    摘要: Refining beamforming techniques for use in a communication system. In one embodiment, a method for beamforming in a communication system includes generating multiple training signals to be transmitted via multiple antennas over a communication channel, including applying a different antenna weight vector (AWV) to each of the multiple training signals. The method further includes receiving feedback generated using the multiple training signals, where the feedback includes a transmitter AWV for use with the multiple antennas and/or channel state information (CSI) descriptive of the communication channel.

    摘要: Systems, apparatuses, and techniques relating to wireless local area network devices are described. A described technique includes transmitting a sounding packet to a wireless communication device(s) to determine characteristics of spatial wireless channels, the sounding packet being based on a spatial mapping matrix; receiving a feedback packet(s) from the device(s), the feedback packet(s) being indicative of one or more feedback matrices, the one or more feedback matrices being derived from wireless channel estimations that are based on received versions of the sounding packet; generating spatially steered data packets based on multiple data streams and one or more steering matrices, which are based on the spatial mapping matrix and the one or more feedback matrices; and transmitting a frame that includes the spatially steered data packets to the device(s). The spatially steered data packets can concurrently provide the streams respectively within the frame to the device(s) via different spatial wireless channels.

    摘要: In a method for transmitting a data unit in a wireless communication network, a physical layer (PHY) preamble and a media access control layer (MAC) header are generated. In generating the MAC header, a first address field to include a first address and a second address field to include a second address are generated. The first, not globally unique, address indicates a communication device for which the data unit is intended or a communication device that is transmitting the data unit. The second address field indicates the other one of a communication device for which the data unit is intended or a communication device that is transmitting the data unit. The first address field and the second address field are included in the MAC header. The MAC header omits a globally unique address corresponding to the first address of the first address field.

    摘要: A plurality of beacon data units are generated, and each beacon data unit in the plurality of beacon data units includes an indication that the beacon data unit can be used for transmit beamforming training. The plurality of beacon data units are transmitted via a plurality of antennas during a timeslot reserved for the transmission of beacons. A different beamforming vector is applied to a beamforming network as each beacon data unit is transmitted. In another aspect, a first beamforming training transmission corrupted by a collision is received. A first station to which the first beamforming training transmission corresponds is determined based on the first beamforming training transmission corrupted by the collision. In response to determining the first station, a signal is transmitted to the first station to prompt the first station to transmit a second beamforming training transmission.

The processor is further configured to compute caching priorities of the content items based on a caching policy of the device and the determined hit times, and initiate a redistribution, over a network, of the plurality of content items over the content distribution clusters of the content distribution network based on the caching priorities.
