Abstract:
Hierarchical coding of a source audio signal in the form of a data stream including a base level and at least two hierarchical enhancement levels, each of the levels being organized in successive frames. At least one frame of at least one enhancement level has a duration less than the duration of at least one frame of the base level. At least one indication representative of an order used for a set of enhancement level frames corresponding to the duration of at least one frame of the base level is inserted into the data stream.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided for allocating resources in a communication network including at least one access point exchanging data with at least one terminal connected thereto, and managing at least two communication channels. The method in the access point implements a phase of associating and authenticating a terminal with the access point, including a step of associating a unique identifier with the terminal, and a phase of managing the assembly of channels. The phase of managing includes implementing a reference table associating one of the channels to a terminal identified by the unique identifier thereof, including the following steps: detecting a switching of a terminal connected with the access point, from an initial channel to a destination channel; and updating the reference table to associate the unique identifier of the terminal to the destination channel.
Abstract:
A method of ordonnancing packets belonging to different flows comprises: a step (E58) of queuing each packet in a queue associated with the flow of said packet; and for each of said queues processed cyclically, a step of sending packets contained in said queue up to a quota for said cycle; said method being characterized in that it further includes: a step (E40, E54) of determining the priority of said packet before said step (E58, E56, E48) of queuing, the priority packets being, firstly, the first packets of the inactive flows, namely the flows for which no packet has been received in said cycle, and, secondly, the packets of the active flows for which the volume of packets received in the cycle is less than the quota; and a step of sending with priority in said cycle packets determined to have priority during said determination step (E40, E54).
Abstract:
A transmission of a digital content to a user terminal is managed by a network comprising a service subnetwork adapted for providing the terminal with a service token, and a digital contents distribution subnetwork which includes a control part and a transmission part. The control part of the distribution subnetwork receives a request from the user terminal for a digital content, indicating a service token. Next, if the service token is recognized as valid, an address relating to the distribution subnetwork is determined and a session token associated with said address is generated. A message indicating said address and the session token associated with said address is then transmitted to the user terminal.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for generating a vector quantization dictionary for a signal, of the type comprising a statistical analysis of driving vectors representing the signal determining a finite set of code vectors which are proxies for the said driving vectors, wherein the method also comprises modifying the said finite set of code vectors to impose a minimum distance between the modified code vectors two by two, these modified code vectors forming the said dictionary.
Abstract:
Devices, systems, and methods for sending and processing session initiation protocol (SIP) responses are disclosed. According to one aspect, a method for sending an SIP response through a first telecommunications network node is described. The method includes receiving, by means of the first node, a SIP request sent by means of a second node of the network. The method includes detecting an event that interferes with processing of said request by means of the first node. The method further includes sending, to the second node, a SIP response notifying said interference. The method also includes, before the sending step, activating, within the SIP response, a parameter that allows the request to be rerouted, said parameter being configurable by means of the second node.
Abstract:
A method of routing data packets (P) between a source node (S) and a target node (C) in an ad hoc network comprising mobile nodes (1-14) that can be located and moving on traffic routes (L1, L2, L3, C1, C2, C3) of a particular geographical network (10) forming between them a plurality of intersections (I1-I6). This method comprises a destination intersection selection step in which a carrier node (S) of the packets (P) selects a destination intersection (12) from neighbor intersections and according to traffic conditions; a step of seeking one or more neighbor mobile nodes (1) of the packet carrier node nearer the selected destination intersection (12) than the carrier node; and, if one or more neighbor mobile nodes (1) are found, a step of transferring the packets (P) from the packet carrier node (S) to the neighbor node (1) that has been found, so as to route the data packets to the selected destination intersection.
Abstract:
Method and system for multicast broadcasting towards a roaming terminal according to the location thereof in relation to its site and/or original organization. Upon connection of the roaming terminal and transmission towards the site of a signalling message, it is possible to discriminate at the site an item of locating information of the roaming terminal whereby the latter receives a signalling acknowledgement message containing the locating information. When a request is made by the roaming terminal for access to group multicast broadcasting, involving a request for an address, the request is substituted or not by an extended multicast broadcast request according to the location of the connection of the roaming terminal, whereby the new address makes it possible to receive all local broadcasting at the site and/or at the original.
Abstract:
A method and a generator for generating a pseudo-random data sequence (3), including combining means for combining data belonging to a plurality of initial data sequences (9a, 9b, 9c) using a procedure for searching for at least one search pattern.
Abstract:
A method is provided for transmitting a multi-carrier signal formed of a temporal succession of symbols comprised of a set of data elements. The method includes: calculating an interference affecting a set of at least two data elements which are to be protected and are spaced out two by two from no more than one time carrier and no more than one frequency carrier, the interference taking into account the value of the data elements to be protected and values of the data elements of a contour ring consisting of carriers immediately adjacent to data elements to be protected, and; determining at least one value to be attributed to at least one data element of the contour ring for reducing, upon reception, the calculated interference.
