摘要: The present invention relates to a column (1) for thermal treatment of fluid mixtures, having a cylindrical, vertically aligned column body (2) which forms a column cavity (3), having a sequence of vertically spaced-apart dual-flow mass transfer trays (8) which are mounted in the column cavity (3) and which have orifices for passage of liquid and gas in countercurrent, and having at least one gas entry orifice (5) disposed below the lowermost of the sequence of dual-flow mass transfer trays (8). It is a characteristic feature of the column of the invention that a gas distribution tray (9) which is disposed between the lowermost of the sequence of dual-flow mass transfer trays (8) and the gas entry orifice (5) has orifices (32) for vertical passage of gas which can be introduced into the column cavity (3) via the gas entry orifice (5), the orifices (32) being formed so as to bring about equal gas distribution over the column cross section. The invention further relates to a process for thermal treatment of fluid mixtures in such a column (1).

摘要: In existing structured packing, performance depends on effective contacting area. Performance decreases in cases having high surface tensions such mixtures containing a lot of water. Such mixtures are difficult to wet the packing surface. The present invention prevents liquid from intersecting the crease of the corrugation and from falling into a free space. Further, liquid flowing into the slot makes frequent liquid and vapor interfacial update resulting in positive utilization of the wetted area. The most important point of this invention is taking a positive utilization of the wetted area. The most important point of this invention is taking a large value of 3.5 or more of P/H (pitch/height of the crimp) and providing the horizontal slot on the crease, resulting in adding the flow reversal mechanism and frequent interfacial update.

摘要: A process and an apparatus are disclosed for a compact processing assembly to remove C5 and heavier hydrocarbon components from a hydrocarbon gas stream. The hydrocarbon gas stream is expanded to lower pressure and supplied to the processing assembly between an absorbing means and a mass transfer means. A distillation vapor stream is collected from the upper region of the absorbing means and cooled in a first heat and mass transfer means inside the processing assembly to partially condense it, forming a residual vapor stream and a condensed stream. The condensed stream is supplied to the absorbing means at its top feed point. A distillation liquid stream is collected from the lower region of the mass transfer means and directed into a second heat and mass transfer means inside the processing assembly to heat it and strip out its volatile components.

摘要: Vapor and liquid passing downward through a vessel are brought into contact within a plurality of distributor assemblies arranged across a horizontal distribution tray located within the vessel. The distributor assemblies have fluid flow paths with different resistances to fluid flow, as by having vapor inlets of at least two different sizes, with the differently sized inlets being located on different assemblies or on different upflow channels of the same assembly. This provides different vapor flow rates and liquid flow rates in different upflow channels. The invention improves the uniformity of liquid distribution over the cross section of the vessel despite elevational differences in liquid levels on the distribution tray or changes in the vapor and or liquid flow rates through the reactor.

摘要: The column employs a head section with a counterflow column, a bottom section with a counterflow column and a plurality of reaction stages for stripping metal salts via steam from ammoniacal solutions or suspensions. Each reaction stage has a floor, a pipe defining a laterally confined chamber, an outlet and a valve in the outlet to control the discharge of liquid. At least one steam line communicates the upper end of each stage with the pipe in the next uppermost stage. Incrustation of the column by the stripped salts is reduced by the high velocity of flow in the bubble bed in each stage.
