Abstract:
A hand pump includes a body member having lower and upper ends, a cavity formed between the ends and an inlet opening that fluidly connects the cavity with a fluid reservoir. A piston assembly is slidably mounted in the cavity and includes a plunger tube slidably extending through a hole in the body member and a piston secured against axial movement on the plunger tube. The plunger tube has an inlet end disposed within the cavity and an outlet end disposed at the upper end of the plunger tube outside the cavity. A first gravity-operated check valve disposed in the cavity below the piston assembly blocks the inlet openings. When the check valve is closed, fluid cannot flow between the cavity and the reservoir. However, when the first check valve is open, fluid can flow between the reservoir and the cavity. A second gravity-operated check valve is associated with the outlet end of the plunger tube. When the second check valve is open, fluid can be discharged from the cavity through the plunger tube. However, when the second check valve is closed, fluid cannot be discharged from the cavity through the plunger tube. A spring yieldingly biases the piston assembly toward the upper end of the body member and, in conjunction with the check valves, automatically primes the pump.
Abstract:
Containers, particularly insulated containers are disclosed consisting essentially of a container body filled with a pump mechanism and featuring a flexible bell shaped member, immersed in liquid and equipped with disc valve. This bell shaped member is compressed whenever the actuating button is pressed, thereby forcing the liquid contents of the container to flow out through the pipe up to the pouring spout. A flexible tube is automatically squeezed shut when the bottom returns to its uppermost position.

A tube pump for use in pumping a liquid from one place, such as a tank, to another, such as a vessel, the tube pump comprising a first tube for sucking a liquid from a tank; a second tube for allowing the sucked liquid to discharge therethrough; a connecting chamber located in the joint of the first and the second tube, where these two tubes are communicated with each other; a bellows member communicating with the connecting chamber, the bellows member being adapted to be gripped by the user's hand; the bellows member having an opening closable by a valve member; the valve member including a cap having an aperture in its center, and a cover including a stem slidably passed through the aperture, wherein the aperture is airtightly closed by the stem when no force acts on the cover but is opened when the cover is pushed downwards.
