摘要: A fluid flow connector including a housing assembly, having a first end and a second end arranged along a common longitudinal axis, and a resilient fluid flow conduit member having a forward end, disposed alongside the first end of the housing assembly, formed with a selectably closable slit and with at least one side opening. The resilient fluid flow conduit member is positioned in a closed position wherein the slit is closed but the at least one side opening is open and in an open position, allowing the slit to open and leaving the at least one side opening open, whereby when the resilient fluid flow conduit member is in the open position, the selectably closable slit and the at least one side opening each provide a fluid flow pathway between an interior of the resilient fluid flow conduit member and the first end of the housing assembly.

摘要: A quick-coupling valve, particularly for pressurized fluids, of the type which comprises, at a first end, a threaded coupling for reversible fixing to a supply hose and, at the second opposite end, the access to quick-coupling elements for a corresponding tubular male element, the valve having internally a first intake chamber for the pressurized fluid and a contiguous second discharge chamber, the two chambers being separated by reversible flow control elements intended to block the fluid, preventing it from passing through the valve when the male element is not inserted, the valve comprising elements which are intended to prevent the uncoupling of the male element when the valve is open and also comprising venting elements for safe uncoupling of the male element when the valve is closed. The valve comprises elements, associated with the flow control elements, for throttling the flow that passes from the first chamber to the second chamber.

摘要: A push-to-connect coupler has a cylindrical coupler body with first and second radial flow passages separated by an internal partition, an inner valve assembly, and an outer sleeve assembly. The inner valve assembly includes a valve sleeve which cooperates with a cylindrical extension extending axially downstream from the partition to prevent leakage from the coupler body. When the nipple is inserted into the coupler socket, the nipple moves the valve sleeve axially upstream away from the distal end of the extension to allow fluid to flow between the extension and the valve sleeve to the nipple. The outer sleeve assembly includes a locking sleeve and a cylindrical slide valve surrounding the coupler body. The locking sleeve is spring-biased to urge locking balls into a groove on the nipple and retain the nipple in the coupler socket. The slide valve is slidable to selectively allow fluid to bypass a partition in the coupler body and flow to the nipple. The locking sleeve automatically engages the slide valve at disconnect to prevent accidental disconnect without shutting off flow through the coupler.

摘要: This fluid coupling (10) includes a metallic tubular body (12) having an inlet end (14) and an outlet end (16), the outlet end being adapted to receive a quick-connect-disconnect plug (20). A metallic actuating sleeve (32, 38) is mounted to the body (12) for selectively permitting fluid flow through the body (12) and latching the plug (20) in place. An outer cover (60) of non-mar plastic material is provided for the coupling (10) , which is moveable with the actuating sleeve (32) and prevents the metallic parts of the coupling from marking finished surfaces.

摘要: A connect-disconnect coupling for a plural-passage fluid line has an outer socket which has an inner plug mounted therein; and an outer plug has an inner socket mounted in it. That inner plug includes a yieldable tube which has one end thereof in fluid-tight engagement with a partition in that outer socket; and the other end of that yieldable tube can automatically align itself with the inner socket in the outer plug as that outer plug is telescoped into that outer socket. The other end of that yieldable tube is capable of automatically returning to a position which is generally central of the outer socket even if that yieldable end had been moved all the way to one side of that outer socket.

摘要: A compressed air coupling with a coupling socket and a valve sleeve displaceable therein and lockable by a catch in the socket, and a nipple insertable into the valve sleeve and lockable by a ball catch in the valve sleeve. The valve sleeve (40) together with the nipple (16) is displaceable from its inner end position, while closing the connecting passage (58,64) to a predetermined intermediate position in which a passage (62,64,54,56) is opened between the nipple locked in the valve sleeve and the free atmosphere to release residual compressed air in the nipple. The intermediate position is determined by a shoulder (82) which is arranged on the socket (10) and interacts with the ball catch (78) of the valve sleeve at the same time as the ball catch locks the nipple (16) to the valve sleeve, the locking of the ball catch against the shoulder (82,84) being dependent on the force which the nipple is subjected to due to residual compressed air in the nipple and being arranged to be released when that compressed air has been depressurized to approximately atmospheric pressure, whereafter the compression spring (46) acting on the valve sleeve is free to displace the valve sleeve and the nipple to the outer end position (FIG. 1) of the valve sleeve, in which position the ball catch (78) of the valve sleeve is free to assume a free position (71) to make it possible to withdraw the depressurized nipple.

摘要: A combination gladhand and dirt protection plug for use in gladhand coupling applications, for example with a tractor and/or trailer. There is a gladhand body with an air inlet and an air outlet. A seal member is positioned at the air outlet and there is a chamber in the body connecting the inlet and the outlet. A dirt protection plug is positioned within the chamber and there is a handle for moving it reciprocally or coaxially in the chamber between positions opening and closing communication between said inlet and outlet. The dirt protection plug carries a nose portion which penetrates the outlet seal in the closed position of the gladhand to prevent dirt and other foreign matter from entering the gladhand body chamber. The dirt protection plug carries a closing seal which is in sealing engagement with the chamber walls to close communication between the inlet and outlet in the closed position of the plug.

摘要: O-rings, which are disposed within pneumatic couplings and which are recurrently moved past ports within those pneumatic couplings, tend to be abraded as they recurrently engage the changes of surface at the mouths of those ports. The present invention minimizes the abrading of the O-rings by providing the ports with bell mouths which merge smoothly into at least two spaced points on the surface of the body in which the ports are located.
