摘要: An actuation device includes a lancing device held by and moveable relative to a distal end portion of a housing. A drive member is supported by the housing and arranged to engage the lancing device to move the lancing device in the first direction from a retracted position to an extended position upon movement of the drive member in a first direction. A piercing member of the lancing device is arranged to extend from the distal end portion of the housing by a first distance when the lancing device is moved to the extended position, the first distance being adjustable by adjusting the retracted position of the lancing device relative to the distal end portion of the housing.

摘要: Fluid introduction into the patient during surgery can be tracked more accurately. For example, saline is often introduced to a patient to clean an operating site. The saline is taken from a sterile bucket and introduced to the patient. In one described approach, the system senses the volume or weight of fluid in the sterile bucket and determines any decrease in the volume or weight to be an introduction of fluid to the patient. If, however, additional saline is added to the bucket, that addition is not counted in the fluid tracking and the further decrements from that new fluid amount is what is used to track fluid addition to the patient.

摘要: Delivery systems and methods for forming and delivering biomaterials from two components are described herein. In particular, apparatus and methods for performing controlled delivery of multicomponent delivery of biomaterials into or onto a body part, such as a body lumen are described. More specifically, in some embodiments, the apparatus and methods are directed towards controlled delivery of micro-volumes of biomaterials into or onto a target location, the micro-volumes being defined as 0.001 mL-1 mL (or 1 μL-1,000 μL) of volume.

摘要: A method of administering insulin includes receiving glucose measurements of a patient at a data processing device from a continuous glucose monitoring system. The glucose measurements are separated by a time interval. The method also includes receiving patient information at the data processing device and selecting a subcutaneous insulin treatment from a collection of subcutaneous insulin treatments. The selection is based on the glucose measurements and the patient information. The selection includes one or more of a subcutaneous standard program, a subcutaneous program without meal boluses, a meal-by-meal subcutaneous program without carbohydrate counting, a meal-by-meal subcutaneous program with carbohydrate counting, and a subcutaneous program for non-diabetic patients. The method also includes executing, using the data processing device, the selected subcutaneous insulin treatment.

摘要: An intravenous delivery system may operate by gravity feed, and may have a liquid source containing a liquid, a drip unit that receives the liquid from the liquid source, and tubing that receives the liquid from the drip unit for delivery to a patient. A flow rate sensor may be used to measure a flow rate of liquid through the intravenous delivery system, and may generate a flow rate signal indicative of the flow rate. A controller may receive the signal, and may compare the flow rate with a desired flow rate. If the flow rate is more or less than the desired flow rate, the controller may transmit a control signal to a flow rate regulator. The flow rate regulator may receive the control signal and, in response, modify the flow rate to bring the flow rate closer to the desired flow rate.

摘要: A connector interface system includes a cap to connect to a reservoir to form a reservoir/cap unit for installation into an infusion pump device. The cap has at least one receptacle for receiving one or more detectable features comprising at least one disc-shaped member, for detection by at least one sensor element on the infusion pump device when the reservoir of the reservoir/cap unit is received in a reservoir receptacle of the infusion pump device. The at least one detectable feature has at least one detectable parameter that is associated with one or more characteristics of the cap, the reservoir, the infusion pump device, a cannula associated with the cap or a tubing connected between the cap and the cannula.
