Abstract:
A system and method for creating and utilizing a construction aid for the construction of a mechanical structure is provided. Specifically, the disclosure may provide a visually transparent or semi-transparent, adhesive template capable of conforming to objects having curved and/or flat surfaces including indicia marked on portions thereof indicating, for example, the location, size, and type of fasteners to be used, or other construction information, is provided. The indicia may be comprised of lines and symbols of differing size, shape and color, as well as verbiage for additional assembly instructions. The adhesive template may be either visually or mechanically indexed to the mechanical structure.
Abstract:
A height gauge, comprising: a sliding support moving along a vertical guide and carrying a contact feeler, and a multi-chromatic light-emitting device mounted on the sliding support. A programmable controller drives the light-emitting device based on the position of the feeler.
Abstract:
A machining tool assembly for manufacturing a firearm lower receiver includes a first and second side jig which are configured to be disposed on opposite sides of the firearm lower receiver and configured to removably attach to one another securing the firearm lower receiver therebetween. A drill block jig is removably attachable to the first and second side jigs disposed above the top surface of the firearm lower receiver, wherein the drill block jig comprises a plurality of through holes. A template spacer jig is removably attachable to the first and second side jigs disposed above the top surface of the firearm lower receiver, wherein the template spacer jig comprises a spacer aperture disposed through a template spacer thickness. A first and second pocket templates are removably attachable and disposed onto the template spacer jig. A router support plate is disposed onto either the first or second pocket templates.
Abstract:
A post sleeve installation system can include a plurality of post sleeve installation devices and at least one spacing beam or mechanism. The spacing beam or mechanism can include end portions that rotate about multiple independent axes and can be coupled to a pair of post sleeve installation devices to determine or control the relative locations and orientations between two post sleeves. The post sleeve installation system can be used to install post sleeves for posts for a fence, a rail or other structure supported by posts.
Abstract:
A tile spacing tool is disclosed herein that spans a gap between tile rows where the gap is sized to receive a decorative insert or the like. The spacing tool spans the gap and transfers the weight of the upper tile rows across the gap to the lower tile rows, which are supported by a floor or ledge. As a result, the entire wall can be built including the decorative insert without waiting for the bottom tile rows to dry to support the weight of the tile rows above the decorative insert.
Abstract:
A device for measuring a gap between two objects located remotely from a user includes a base, a slider and a wedge. The slider is slidably received in the base and the wedge is attached to the slider and also slidably received in the base. A push-pull cable has a proximal end connected to the slider. The wedge is inclined at a predetermined angle and slides along an angled surface of the base such that a force applied to a distal end of the cable causes an upper surface of the wedge to move vertically forcing the wedge and the base into respective contact with the two objects forming the gap. By measuring the distance that the push-pull cable slides, the vertical distance traveled by the wedge and thus a measurement of the gap may be determined.
Abstract:
This backlash measurement device measures the backlash existing between a first part and a second part that is provided with: a left pressing piece (37L) and a right pressing piece (37R) that rotate together with the second part, that pass through the center of rotation (41), and that extend the same distance from the center of rotation; a left pressing mechanism (38L) that presses the left pressing piece and a right pressing mechanism (38R) that presses the right pressing piece; a displacement amount detection mechanism (39) that comes into contact with the right pressing piece and that measures the displacement amount of the left pressing piece and the displacement amount of the right pressing piece; and a calculation unit (49) that determines backlash on the basis of the left displacement amount and the right displacement amount detected by the displacement amount detection mechanism.
Abstract:
A small sealing gauge may include a body that is attached to a site to be measured, a lever that linearly moves by contact with a moving part while moving in a state of being inserted into a hole of the body, and a dial gauge that is inserted to a back side of the hole in the body to measure an amount of movement of the lever through contact with the lever.
Abstract:
A gap assessment tool includes a base and an edge probe. The base fits to an exterior exhaust element of a vehicle, and includes the first of a pair of defined measurement locations. The edge probe is supported by the base for movement to an extended position in which, with the base fitted to the exterior exhaust element, the edge probe contacts an edge of an exterior body panel of the vehicle spaced from the exterior exhaust element, and includes the second of the pair of defined measurement locations. With the base fitted to the exterior exhaust element, and with the edge probe moved to the extended position and contacting the edge of the exterior body panel, a measurement between the pair of defined measurement locations is indicative of a part of a gap between the exterior exhaust element and the edge of the exterior body panel.
Abstract:
A measurement device for a ring-shaped assembly that measures relative positions, is provided with: a first contact section that comes into contact with a reference surface that is continuous in the circumferential direction of the ring-shaped member and is capable of sliding in the circumferential direction; a second contact section capable of pressing against an opposing surface that faces an opposite side in the radial direction from the reference surface of the ring-shaped member; a base section that supports the first contact section and the second contact section; a third contact section that comes into contact with a measurement-target part of the assembled member; a connecting section that connects the third contact section and the base section; and a measurement unit that measures a displacement of the third contact section relative to the base section.
