Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for transmitting real time-criticai data using data messages in a data network. The data messages have an identification, useful data and a transfer status. According to the inventive method, data messages comprising errors are replaced by replacement messages that have the same structure as the data messages. The replacement message has the same identification as the data message to be replaced and is thus forwarded via the switching node, which would have been used to route the error-free data message. The replacement message can contain details of the type of transmission error.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for processing data in a receiver used in a wireless communication system is provided. The data processing method uses the receiver apparatus comprising a medium access control (MAC) layer and a radio link control (RLC) layer for processing data units. The data processing comprises communicating a data unit and a cyclic redundancy code (CRC) check result associated with the data unit from the MAC layer to the RLC layer; examining in the RLC layer that the CRC check result sent from the MAC layer that indicates whether the data unit has an error; and discarding the data unit when the data unit has error and when an error handling scheme is not provided.
Abstract:
A system and method of sanitizing a data frame from a node in a network loop includes receiving the data frame from the node, and, when the data frame includes invalid data, replacing a first word of the invalid data with a frame termination primitive and subsequent words of the invalid data with buffer data.
Abstract:
A vehicle active network (12) communicatively couples devices (14-20) within a vehicle (10). Device operation is independent of the interface (22-28) of the device (14-20) with the active network (12). Additionally, the architecture of the active network (12) provides one or more levels of communication redundancy. The architecture provides for the total integration of vehicle systems and functions, and permits plug-and-play device integration and upgradeability.
Abstract:
A method for transmitting/receiving wireless data and an apparatus therefor according to the quality of an application service and features of a coder/decoder (CODEC) of an application layer are provided. The method for transmitting/receiving wireless data includes the steps of: establishing a catalog of information related to the application data service; adding header information of each layer by referring to the catalog established in the above step, and error detecting codes to the application data; deciphering a header if data errors are detected by the error detecting codes added to the data during the reception, and transmitting the data to the upper ranking layer according to the quality of service, if the deciphered value of the header belongs to the catalog established in the above step.
Abstract:
A method is disclosed for the operation of a data processing system for motor vehicles including at least two computers and a line connecting the computers for the transmission of messages. This line permits a fast and reliable data transmission between the computers installed in the motor vehicle, taking into account the specific requirements of a controller-coupling in the motor vehicle. An embodiment is provided which describes in detail the interface between the individual computers and the line linking the computers, and with the aid of which a controller-coupling is realized in the vehicle.
Abstract:
The invention is directed to a method of handling erroneous messages in a data processing arrangement. The data processing arrangement can be applied to a motor vehicle and includes at least two stations such as a motor control computer, a transmission control computer, and/or a brake control computer. A data line connects the two stations for transmitting messages. The method is performed by causing the station which detected the erroneous message to transmit an error report in response to the erroneous message; and, causing the error report to include a sequence of states or bits which cannot be confused with any sequence of dominant states or bits during error-free data transmission.

Abstract:
A universal asynchronous receiver/transmitter includes a transmission register to include information to be transmitted, a receive register to include information received, a frame error checking circuit to evaluate contents of the receive register for a frame error, and control logic. The control logic is to route the contents of the transmission register to the receive register. The control logic is to, during transmission of the contents of the transmission register through the reprogrammable pin to the receive register, modify a bit inversion register to yield modified contents to be provided to the receive register. The modified contents are to cause a frame error. The control logic is to determine whether the frame error checking circuit detected the frame error.
Abstract:
In accordance with an example embodiment of the present invention, disclosed is a method and an apparatus thereof for removing jitter introduced by a packet switched network. Each received audio frame comprises a primary portion and a redundancy portion. The redundancy portion comprises a partial redundant copy of a previous frame that is offset by k frames. If a frame n is lost, a frame n+k that comprises the partial redundant copy of the lost frame n, is located in a jitter buffer. Based on the frame n+k, a substitute frame n′ substituting the lost frame n is created and a substitution indicator of the substitute frame n′ is set to indicate that the redundancy portion of the substitute fame n′ should be used in decoding.
