Abstract:
The tire pressure sensor housing for a motor vehicle, provided to be mounted on a wheel rim comprises elastically deformable support wings of variable height and a device for positional fixing and locking having snap-on tongues.
Abstract:
An apparatus mounted on a valve for indicating a pressure of tire comprising a pressure indicator formed of transparent plastic and including a base having a scale, base consisting of an inner hollow cylinder sleeved on valve and an outer hollow cylinder with tops of cylinders open, a spring put on inner hollow cylinder, a seal put on inner hollow cylinder being urged by spring for eliminating a potential air flow through an inner or outer periphery of seal, and a cap having a downward peg engaged with valve, cap being releasably secured to a top of base. In indicating pressure of tire, air is flowed from within tire to push down seal through valve and pressure indicator so that a top of seal is aligned with one of marks of scale. Further, pressure indicator is disengaged from valve prior to inflating tire.
Abstract:
An improved automobile tire inflater gauge for tankless air systems having vandal-resistant locking means for attaching gauge accessories comprising a smooth-bore female cylindrical chamber suitable for accepting accessory insertion members, said insertion members having o-rings and circumscribing lock notch groove. Said insertion member locked in chamber by a spring-ring mounted on exterior of chamber housing, said spring-ring having notches which penetrate said housing wall and enter lock groove on insertion member. The gauge additionally having a replaceable barrel cushion sleeve to reduce impact damage and an internal checkvalve to prohibit explosive tire gas migration.
Abstract:
A multi purpose portable hand held compressed air power unit for spraying liquids from a tank or for inflating inflatable items. Said power unit having a trigger operated battery system and external electrical source provided in a housing having an electric motor and an air compressor. An air conduit pipe extends downwardly from the housing supplying compressed air into a liquid tank for spraying or to modified attachments attachable to inflate items such as tires, tubes, water floats or other inflatable items. The alternative electric power source can be used to replace the batteries.
Abstract:
A valve/transducer and system for pressure measuring: which has a valve/transducer (24) comprised of an appropriately dimensioned tapered barrel (30) of rigid material with a gasket (40) near the barrel's larger diameter proximal end. The valve/transducer has an opening closable by valve cup (32) which is operated by a pin (34) extending from the barrel. The valve/transducer has within the barrel an integrated silicon circuit (44) and flex circuit electrical interface (76). The integrated circuit provides a pressure transducer (58) and an integrated processor/encoder (68). The system includes wireless transmitter/receiver paired circuits consisting of a transponder (26) and a transmit/receive channel circuit (164). The system includes a control/display processor (162) and an indicator (182) with novel displays of useful tire inflation and maintenance parameters.
Abstract:
There is provided a device for filling an inflatable protective cushion to a predetermined air pressure. The inflating device has a handle having an inlet port for receiving compressed air and a valve for opening and closing the inlet port and an air outlet port. A housing having an air chamber is connected to the handle and receives the air from the handle outlet port through an air channel terminating in an orfice which creates a vacuum in the chamber. The venturi effect draws additional air through a muffler connected to the housing chamber during filling. The muffler serves to restrict air flow from and to the atmosphere during and after filling of the cushion. The housing also includes a nozzle connected to the air outlet for insertion into a self-sealing valve in the cushion for filling with air. Also provided is a fill indicator comprising an indicator mount secured in the housing, an indicator button extending through an opening in the mount and moveable upward and downward therein. A magnet is attached to the inner end of the indicator button and a means for attracting the magnet when the cushion is being filled with air is provided. The indicator button rises when the force of redirected air overcomes the magnetic force after the cushion reaches the desired air pressure.
Abstract:
A tire pressure indicator which includes a valve stem over-pressure indicator and a valve stem cap under-pressure indicator. The valve stem includes an air porting scheme that releases over-inflation air for escape through a whistling reed configuration. The valve stem cap includes a top translucent panel for coaction with a diaphragm spring contained therebelow. Normal tire pressure distends the diaphragm spring to an upward convex attitude in contact with the underside of the translucent panel to project a visual indicator.
Abstract:
A pressure indicating valve stem for a pneumatic tubeless tire comprises a tubular valve core holder (5), a mounting sleeve (4) in which the core holder is capable of elastically restrained telescopic movement, a clamp nut threaded on said sleeve which in conjunction with an end flange (9) on the sleeve secures it within the valve orifice of a wheel rim, and sealing means comprising an elastomeric generally tubular molding having an annular margin (14) clamped between the end flange and the rim and its other end margin sealed to the inner end of the core holder. The molding has a large diameter undulating walled boot or bellows (19) extending from one said end margin to the other, which provides all of the elastic restraint on the movement of the core holder within the sleeve.
Abstract:
A visual tire pressure indicator having a hollow outer body, an inner cap fitted within the outer body and an inner body secured to the inner cap and generally co-axial with the outer body. A pair of indicator sleeves is slidably disposed around the inner body. A pre-calibrated spring helically surrounds the inner body for biasing or urging the pair of indicator sleeves towards the inner cap. A valve core body is threadably engaged to top threads of the inner body while simultaneously being fitted snugly against an inner wall of the inner body. The valve core body has a longitudinal bore wherethrough air is passed to be emitted into a tire. A control rod has a valve core cap secured thereto and is slidably disposed in the longitudinal bore such that when it is depressed, air can be passed through the longitudinal bore. A valve core spring is positioned around the control rod and in the longitudinal bore to bias the control rod such that the core cap can seal-off the longitudinal bore.
Abstract:
A tire valve with a tire air pressure indicator incorporated therein to provide a continuous visual indication of the air pressure within the tire. The tire valve includes a rigid tubular main stem having means on its inner end for mounting on a tire rim together with an external sleeve spaced from and sealingly engaged with the main stem to form an air chamber. A spring biased piston is slidably disposed in the air chamber for movement longitudinally therein with air passages communicating the interior of the stem with the air chamber with the air pressure in the tire also occurring in the air chamber thereby moving the piston outwardly by compressing a calibrated spring in accordance with the air pressure. The external sleeve is transparent and the piston serves as an indicator associated with a graduated scale on the sleeve to indicate the air pressure in the tire.
