摘要： Cross-contamination of the patients using the same bathtub in a health-care institution is precluded by lining the tub, before it is filled with water, with a disposable sheet of biologically-clean, flexible plastic film, thereby establishing a physical barrier to prevent any contact (and consequently a transmission path for bacteria) between the bathtub and patient and between the tub and water. Openings are made along the liner's edges in order to hang the liner onto a series of hooks affixed to the three walls surrounding the tub, the hooks being appropriately shaped so that they can be used by the installer to pierce or puncture the liner to make the openings. The liner is merely draped over the front of the tub. Installation is expedited and made easier by providing a series of markers, such as printed rings, along the edges of the liner to designate the areas that should be pierced to achieve proper positioning and centering of the liner within the bathtub.

摘要： An apparatus for ventilating the toilet bowl of noxious odors which includes a conduit formed within the toilet seat interconnecting the toilet bowl chamber and an opening in the toilet seat axle. The noxious odors are to be sucked through the opening in the toilet seat and into and interiorly of the toilet seat axle whereupon the odors are moved by a blower into a separate chamber formed interiorly of the lavatory conduit. The odors are then transmitted through the lavatory conduit and into the sewage plumbing system.

摘要： The laminate comprises (i) a layer of impact absorbing foam, (ii) a flexible, resinous finishing layer affixed to the foam layer, and (iii) a continuous, flexible thin layer of a substantially water impermeable resin affixed to the finishing layer. In one embodiment, impact absorbing polypropylene or polyethylene foam is provided with a finishing layer of either a cross-linked polyethylene ionomeric foam or a mixture of a ground impact absorbing foam dispersed throughout an acrylic resin binder. A thin vinyl or acrylic resinous layer is affixed to the finishing layer to complete the laminate. The laminate is rigidified by affixing a stiff, self-supporting backing layer, such as a reinforced polyester or epoxy resin, to the impact absorbing foam to sandwich the foam between the backing and finishing layer. Numerous impact absorbing articles such as walls, floors, ceilings, bathtubs, swimming pools, sinks, shower stalls, can be fabricated from the laminate. Pre-existing surfaces are rendered impact absorbing by covering such surfaces with the laminate. In addition to the safety feature arising from its impact absorbing properties, the laminate is water resistant, easy to clean and maintain, substantially dent resistant, of light weight, and attractive to the eye.

摘要： This invention is a children''s toilet seat and a cover for standard toilet seats. It is conventionally attached to a standard toilet seat and comprises a rearwardly positioned, Ushaped elevated section, a forwardly positioned, depressed section having a child-sized opening therein, and an auxiliary cover which substantially conforms to the shape of the depressed section and which is pivotally mounted behind the child-sized opening for closure thereover so that the top surface of the cover of this invention is substantially planar. The auxiliary cover is provided with a brace which is pivotally attached at one end thereto and which normally rests in a recess therein. The free end of the brace travels within an aligned guide recess in the U-shaped section when the auxiliary cover is raised to support the auxiliary cover to thereby provide a backrest for a child. Retractable straps for holding a child in position and a deformable, resilient splash guard are also provided.
