摘要: A padded mat device that is used to protect harmful contact with hard surfaces, such as bathtubs edges. The padded mat device contains a top surface and a bottom surface that are joined together along a common peripheral edge. The interior of the padded mat device is filled either with air or with some padding material. The interior of the padded mat device is partially segmented. The top surface and bottom surface of the padded mat are periodically joined at seams along a plurality of parallel lines that extend between opposite edges of the padded mat device. The points where the top surface and the bottom surface join create depressions on the exterior of the padded mat device. Consequently, the lines of the seams become natural folding points where the padded mat device can be folded into different configurations. A plurality of suction cups extend from the bottom surface of the padded mat device. The suction cups adhere to a hard surface being padded.

摘要: A plumbing fixture for installation in restrooms that enables female individuals to urinate from a standing position. An elongate flexible hose has a urine collecting funnel at one end and the other end communicates with a bowl of the fixture. A sanitary liner is received by the rim of the funnel so that the funnel does not contact the body of the user. The liner is knocked off the funnel after use by a passive ejector arm when the funnel is suspended between a pair of hanger arms. The hanger arms each include a pair of arm members that guide and receive the funnel. Also, the fixture includes a trough formed in an upper portion of an inside surface to direct flushing water supplied to the fixture onto the suspended funnel for cleaning.

摘要: A bed with an integrated commode includes a mattress (10) and bed frame with a hole (26) disposed therein. The hole (26) is operable to receive the outer peripheral edge of the commode seat (14). A sanitary insert (12) is provided which has an upper surface (24) that is disposed over the mattress (10) or moisture-proof mattress cover and attached thereto by a hook and loop type attachment device (28). The sanitary insert (12) extends downward into the interior of the bowl with a downward extending portion (30). A commode seat (14) is operable to be disposed on the upper surface of the rim (22) and hold the sanitary insert (12) therein. The seat (14) has a splash guard (16) that extends from the interior surface thereof downward into the bowl.

摘要: A disposable sitz bath for use with a conventional toilet is formed by two sheets of a water impervious, pliable material bonded together on three sides to form a pouch. One corner of the fourth open side of the pouch is excised diagonally to form an overflow drain for the pouch. The sitz bath is designed such that when portions of the pouch adjacent the open side thereof are stretched about the rim of a toilet bowl, it will be retained thereon without the use of fasteners or adhesives. The pouch, when filled with a medicinal fluid, substantially fills the bowl of the toilet, causing the water within the toilet to be automatically flushed. In use, any overflow of fluid from the pouch flows out of the overflow drain and is retained in the toilet.

摘要: A bag constructed of biodegradable material in the form of high dry-strength and no wet-strength paper combined with water-soluble plastic material laminated to a portion of the exterior of the bag. The bag is of a size to receive a bedpan as specifically disclosed but it may also be of a size to receive an emesis pan or the like when inserted therein with the bag completely enclosing the pan to maintain the aseptic characteristics of a sterile pan by completely preventing any possible contact between the pan and the patient or excreta from a patient thereby eliminating the necessity of cleaning and sterilizing bedpans, emesis pans and the like which results in substantial saving of time, labor and cost of caring for a patient. The bag, after use, is easily separated from the pan and flushed into the sewer system through a conventional commode with the water soluble plastic being dissolved by the flushing water and the paper becoming disintegrated so that the plumbing system will not become clogged. The water soluble plastic has the characteristic of maintaining its strength and impermeability charcteristics at temperatures above approximately 60 degrees F. so that excreta at body temperature will not dissolve the plastic material. However, the plastic becomes dissolved by water at temperatures below approximately 60 degrees F. so that when it is placed in a commode hopper or the like the flushing water which is at a temperature below approximately 60 degrees F. will dissolve the plastic material. The bag will also eliminate the use of bedpan liners, prevent staining of plastic pans, prevent odor from pentrating into plastic pans, extend the life of conventional pans, eliminate cold bed pans and assure the patient that the bedpans, emesis pan and the like is, in fact, sterile.

摘要: The disclosure describes a commode liner made from a first and a second opposing member defining a top with an opening, a bottom, and a pair of opposing sides. The pair of opposing sides includes a separation distance D, which varies from the top to the bottom, and the distance D is larger at the top than at the bottom. The opposing members can be formed from a latently dispersible barrier composite material including an exposed low strength barrier component, an internal water sensitive layer, and a water permeable, inextensible, water dispersible support layer. When exposed to aqueous conditions on the barrier side, the composite prevents it from passing through to the other layers. When exposed to aqueous conditions on the opposite side, the commode liner readily disperses and may be disposed of by flushing in a toilet, for example. Examples of barrier layers include polylactic acid. Examples of water sensitive layers include polyvinyl alcohol. Examples of support layers include low stretch grades of toilet tissue.
