摘要: A highway retroreflecting marker comprises a housing including a base having a relatively rigid side wall, and a resiliently depressible cap projecting upwardly from the base. The cap is substantially sealingly engaged with the side wall of the base. At least the cap of the housing is formed from a relatively wearresistant synthetic resin. The cap has a prism which is transparent to enable light rays to pass therethrough and which redirects the light rays striking the prism at an angle different from the angle at which the light rays strike the prism. A retroreflecting means is supported in the housing to enable the light rays redirected from the prism to be received thereby and to enable the light rays received thereby to be retroreflected therefrom back to the prism. The housing is adapted to be positioned adjacent a roadway so that the light rays from an approaching vehicle will strike the prism, be redirected therefrom to the retroreflecting means, then be retroreflected to the prism, and thereafter be directed from the prism back towards the approaching vehicle.

摘要: The present invention relates to a weigh-in-motion system for motor vehicles based on a set consisting of loop sensors and fiber optic sensors mounted on a rigid metal profile. Its technical field of application corresponds to systems for measuring dynamic physical events that are caused directly or indirectly by the passage of a motor vehicle over its sensors. The rigid weighing sensor is made of rigid or semi-rigid metal, plastic, composite or similar material, with a deformation profile optimized for transforming vertical stresses into horizontal stresses and containing damping and protection material to attenuate external horizontal stresses. This set makes it possible to measure parameters with high precision and in a reliable and simple way, with the advantages of being installed and molded to any floor, of being minimally intrusive, of not suffering electromagnetic interference, of being low cost, of having a long service life, and of having simple manufacturing technology at a lower cost than that demonstrated in the state of the art.

Each optical fiber includes one or more optical sensors installed a predetermined distance from one or more adjacent optical fibers. The one or more optical sensors are configured to produce a wavelength shift signal. A processor is configured to determine one or both of one or more attributes of one or more objects travelling on the pavement and a traffic condition of the pavement based on the wavelength shift signal. A transmitter is configured to transmit the one or more attributes to a predetermined location.

摘要: An electrical power generating apparatus for generating electrical power using a generator connected directly or indirectly to a flywheel is disclosed. The apparatus comprises platforms, protrusions, generators, flywheels and other components. The platforms are configured to be laid on a surface and easily allow an object, e.g., a vehicle to traverse over the platforms. Each protrusion is configured to move downward and upward through apertures located in a top portion of the platform. The protrusions interact with reset members. The protrusions move in a linear/angle downward/downward-upward motion when the object pushes/strikes/depresses the protrusions. Each protrusion is connected in an operative manner to a shaft via a gear, and/or to a lever which is connected in an operative manner to shaft, thereby rotating the shaft by converting linear motion to rotational motion. A generator, flywheel, and gearbox can be coupled to the shaft.
