    摘要: A compatible data transfer apparatus for use with first and second tape assemblies such as multitrack digital magnetic tape cassettes on which data are recorded with different formats or with different densities. Typically, in order to discriminate between the two types of tape assemblies, a beginning-of-tape (BOT) sensor is utilized which optically detects a BOT hole usually formed in this kind of tape cassette. The two types of tape assemblies have their BOT holes formed at different distances from optically detectable starting position of the tape such as the boundary between the transport leader tape section and the opaque data storage section. The BOT sensor may be connected to a programmed microcomputer or to a devoted identification circuit whereby the loaded tape assembly is identified as the first or second type depending upon the distance of the BOT hole from the starting tape position. A tape select switch is automatically actuated for connecting the transducer to a reproduction circuit to either of two reproduction circuits provided for the two types of tape assemblies.

    摘要: An auto-tracking apparatus of a magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus has a circuit for discriminating whether the audio signals recorded on a magnetic tape to be reproduced were recorded by audio rotary heads or a fixed head, and a circuit for selecting outputs of the audio rotary heads in the case of the Hi-Fi recorded magnetic tape by the audio rotary heads and outputs of the video rotary heads in the case where it is determined that the magnetic tape is the normal recorded tape by the fixed head on the basis of the result of the discrimination, and performs the auto-tracking on the basis of the selected outputs. With this arrangement, the auto-tracking can be carried out irrespective of whether the magnetic tape is the normal recorded tape by the conventional fixed head or the Hi-Fi recorded tape by the rotary heads.

    摘要: In a cue recording system for a tape recorder, an audio signal is recorded by a first recording section on a first track of a tape. In a second recording section, a cue signal is superposed on the audio signal. The composite signal formed of the audio and cue signals is then recorded on the second track of the tape. In the playback mode, the audio signal and the cue signal recorded on the second track are separated by a filter. When the separated second-track audio signal is mixed with a first-track reproduced output, the resultant audio signal has substantially the same low-frequency response characteristic as a stereo head system, and a same S/N ratio as the monaural head system. An insufficient low-frequency response of the second track is compensated by the flat frequency response of the first track. Degradation of the S/N ratio of the signal of the first track can be improved by the mid or higher frequency component of the audio signal of the second track.
