    摘要: A method of manufacturing by a power metallurgy process a rotary drill bit including a bit body having an external surface on which are mounted a plurality of preform cutting elements, and an inner passage for supplying drilling fluid to at least one nozzle located in a socket at the external surface of the bit. The method includes the steps of forming a hollow mould for moulding the bit body, packing the mould with powdered material, such as tungsten carbide powder, and infiltrating the material with a metal alloy in a furnace to form a matrix. Before packing the mould with the powdered material, there is positioned in the interior surface of the mould at least one former which projects into the interior of the mould space at the desired location for a nozzle socket, the former having an external screw thread whereby the matrix material packed around the former becomes shaped with a corresponding internal screw thread. The former is so constructed that it may be removed from the bit body after formation thereof to leave in the matrix an internally threaded socket which may receive a separately formed, externally threaded nozzle. The internal threads in the socket are formed from the matrix material which surrounds and defines the socket.

According to the invention there is used a drill bit comprising platelets of small radial dimension disposed about a central burster in a discontinuous peripheral crown axially extending said drill bit, channels for supplying pressurized fluid opening from the crown close to the platelets. Said platelets are preferably separated from one another by rectilinear discharge ramps. A drill bit in accordance with this invention can be manufactured e.g. by turning or milling. It can be applied for drilling rock formations in mines, and other hard materials.

    摘要: A drag blade bit for connection on a drill string has a hollow body on which there are welded a plurality of cutting or drilling blades. The blades extend longitudinally and radially of the bit body and terminate in relatively flat, radially extending cutting edges. A plurality of cutters are positioned in and spaced along the cutting edges and consists of cylindrical sintered carbide inserts with polycrystalline diamond cutting elements mounted thereon. Hardfacing is provided on the cutting edges between the cutters and on the other surfaces of the blades and the bit body subject to abrasive wear. One or more nozzles are positioned in passages from the interior of the bit body for directing flow of drilling fluid for flushing cuttings from the well bore and for cooling the bit.

    摘要: A rock drilling tool, such as used with a hammer drill, consists of an axially extending shank and a drilling tool head at one end of the shank which provides the rock drilling or cutting action. The drilling tool head includes a centrally positioned axially extending centering projection with at least three angularly spaced drilling fingers disposed radially outwardly from the centering projection and forming therebetween an annular recess which extends inwardly into the drilling tool head from the axial end surfaces of the drilling fingers. Each drilling finger has a drilling tooth on its axial end surface and a circle including the radially outer surfaces of the drilling teeth has a greater diameter than the diameter of the shank. The arrangement of the centering projection, the spaced drilling fingers and the annular recess affords efficient removal of drilled material and reduced friction between the hole being drilled and the drilling tool.
