    Abstract: A connector assembly includes a connector housing defining a cavity, a cylindrical terminal disposed within the cavity, a primary terminal locking feature configured to retain the cylindrical terminal within the cavity, and a secondary terminal locking feature configured to retain the cylindrical terminal within the cavity. The secondary terminal locking feature has a pair of arms defining concave features that engage the cylindrical terminal as the concave features of the pair of arms are wedged between the cylindrical terminal and inner walls of the cavity.

    Abstract: A bi-static radar system configured for coherent detection of a radar-signal includes a plurality of radar-transceivers, a controller, and a communications device. The plurality of radar-transceivers is characterized as physically spaced apart with respect to each other. The controller is in communication with the each of the radar-transceivers and is configured to coherently operate each of the radar-transceivers. The communications device communicates both a reference-clock signal and a frame-sync signal from the controller to each of the plurality of radar-transceivers whereby the plurality of radar-transceivers operate coherently. Alternatively, the system may include a reference-signal generator, a transmitter, and a plurality of receivers. The reference-signal generator generates a reference-signal characterized by a reference-frequency proportional to a fraction of a radar-frequency of a radar-signal transmitted. The transmitter generates the radar-signal at the radar-frequency based on the reference-signal. The plurality of receivers operates coherently to detect the radar-signal based on the reference-signal.

    Abstract: A system and method of path planning utilizing a clothoid curve to connect a start point and an end point is provided. The method includes receiving at a path planning system inputs including the start point and the end point of a desired path. The method further includes calculating clothoid parameters for a clothoid curve connecting the start point and the end point based the received start point, the received end point, and a closed-form expression, wherein the closed-form expression is generated based on a relationship between a plurality of unique center point values associated with a plurality of unique clothoid curves and the clothoid parameters associated with each of the plurality of unique clothoid curves. A clothoid curve is generated based on the determined clothoid parameters, wherein the generated clothoid curve represents a planned path from the start point to the end point.

    Abstract: An illustrative example embodiment of an electronic device includes an integrated circuit component having a plurality of solder balls on one side. The substrate includes a first side adjacent the one side of the integrated circuit component. The substrate includes a plurality of openings. At least some of those openings are aligned with the solder balls. A cooling plate is situated toward a second side of the substrate. A thermally conductive material within the plurality of openings is thermally coupled with the cooling plate. At least some of the thermally conductive material is thermally coupled with the solder balls.

The electrical terminal seal includes a base formed of a compliant material and a cylindrical protrusion integrally formed with the base and extending from a major surface of the base. The electrical terminal seal defines a cylindrical aperture extending through the protrusion. The protrusion includes a first circumferential rib that is integrally formed with the protrusion. The first circumferential rib extends into the aperture from an inner surface of the protrusion.

    Abstract: This document describes techniques and systems to increase the dynamic range of time-of-flight (ToF) lidar systems. The described lidar system adjusts, based on the energy of a first return pulse, the bias voltage of a photodetector for other return pulses of the object pixel. The bias voltage can be adjusted down for highly-reflective or close-range objects. Similarly, the bias voltage can be increased for low-reflectivity or long-range objects. The ability of the described lidar system to adjust the bias voltage of the photodetector for each object pixel increases the dynamic range of the lidar system without additional hardware or a complex readout. The increased dynamic range allows the described lidar system to maintain a long-range capability, while accurately measuring return-pulse intensity for detecting close-range or highly-reflective objects.

    Abstract: The present disclosure describes systems and techniques for estimating a height of an object by processing wave signals transmitted from a detection device to the object and reflected by the object. In aspects, a detection device transmits wave signals, which propagate via a direct path and an indirect path via reflection over a reflecting surface, to be reflected by the object. Operations include measuring wave signals reflected by the object and generating measurement vectors and producing a spectrum of an estimated elevation angle of the object over the range. Further, the operations include estimating the height of the object from the spectrum. The length of the window can be determined by estimating the range interval covered by a full phase cycle of a phase difference between the direct path and the indirect path from a current value of the range and a current estimate of the height of the object.
