Abstract:
A method is described for extending a text message with content wherein the text message is sent by a mobile terminal via a Short Message Service Center (SMSC) of a communications system to a recipient and wherein the communications system further comprises a Content Service Center (CSC). The method comprises the steps of receiving at the CSC the text message originating from the SMSC; generating a content-extended text message by adding at least one piece of content to at least a part of the text message; and, sending the content-extended text message depending on the size of the content-extended text message in one or more mobile terminated short messages (MT/SM) to the recipient.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and computer readable media for seamless roaming between networks are disclosed. According to one aspect, the subject matter described herein includes a method for seamless roaming between networks. The method occurs at a home subscriber server (HSS). The method includes maintaining registration status information for a subscriber. The method also includes communicating with a first network via a first network interface and with a second network via a second network interface using the registration status information to facilitate roaming between the first network and the second network. The first network interface is configured to receive and send non-Diameter signaling messages for managing mobility of the subscriber and the second network interface is configured to receive and send Diameter signaling messages for managing mobility of the subscriber.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and computer readable media for SMS forwarding are disclosed. A message service message routing information response message containing message service message routing information for a first destination may be received. The response message is modified to direct a mobile terminated message service message intended for the first destination to the message service message proxy. The mobile terminated message service message is received at the message service message proxy, which determines whether a message service message forwarding feature is enabled for the first destination. If a message service message forwarding feature is enabled for the first destination, it is determined whether the mobile terminated message service message is eligible for forwarding to a second destination. If the mobile terminated message service message is eligible for forwarding, signaling is initiated to forward the mobile terminated message service message to the second destination.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for signaling connection control part (SCCP) loop detection and prevention are disclosed. A signal transfer point (STP) receives a message and performs global title translation (GTT) for the message. The STP compares the originating point code (OPC) in the signaling message with the post-GTT destination point code (DPC) in the message. If the incoming message OPC matches the post-GTT DPC, SCCP looping is detected and the message is discarded. If the incoming message OPC does not match the post-GTT DPC, the STP may correlate the incoming message OPC or the DPC to one or more additional point codes to identify the presence of SCCP looping.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for generating, distributing, and screening commercial content are disclosed. A commercial content generator (CCG) generates commercial content message and obtains from a push proxy agent address resolution server the network routing address of each push proxy agent that is required for distribution of the message to the target mobile subscriber audience. A push proxy agent receives a message containing commercial content and resolves a mobile subscriber identifier for each mobile subscriber who is to receive the commercial content information using subscriber information obtained from a subscriber location register, such as a visitor location register (VLR). The push proxy agent may also negotiate media format characteristics for each member of the target mobile subscriber audience and facilitate delivery of the commercial content to each member of the target mobile subscriber audience.
Abstract:
A method and system for generating and providing existing and new message accounting records in a standard format using call data obtained from switching and/or signaling networks is disclosed. A system for providing augmented billing messages includes a message accounting record creation apparatus being in communication with a signaling network and a switching network. The message accounting record creation apparatus receives call records from the signaling network and message accounting records from the switching network and outputs augmented message accounting records. Each of the augmented message accounting records is generated using one of the signaling network call records and one of the switching network message accounting records.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for transmitting user part messages between signaling system seven (SS7) signaling points over an internet protocol (IP) network include receiving, at a signal transfer point, a first SS7 user part message. The first SS7 user part message can be received from a first SS7 signaling point, such as a service switching point (SSP). The first SS7 signaling point is encapsulated in a first IP packet. The first IP packet is transmitted to a second SS7 signaling point over an IP network.
Abstract:
A filtering and application triggering platform may be implemented on a signaling message routing node to decode signaling messages and increase efficiency in subsequent processing of the signaling message. A communications link module on a signaling message routing node receives a signaling message. A first filtering and application triggering module associated with the communication link module extracts predetermined parameters from the signaling message and generates a decode key based on the parameters. The first filtering and application triggering module applies a first triggering rule to the decode key and determines whether to forward or drop the message. If the first filtering and application triggering module determines that the message should be forwarded, the first filtering and application triggering module forwards the message to another processing module within the signaling message routing node. The decode key is forwarded along with the message. The next processing module may extract additional parameters from the message, add the parameters to the decode key, and apply a triggering rule to the modified decode key.

Abstract:
An end office support (EOS) routing node implements MTP layers 1-3 on behalf of one or more remote applications that share the true point code of the EOS routing node. Implementing MTP layers 1-3 includes receiving messages addressed to the true point code, determining whether the messages are contain application level information of interest to a remote application, and forwarding the application level information to the remote application. Messages may be routed internally within the EOS routing node using an internal point code used to uniquely identify the remote application within the EOS routing node. The EOS routing node may also perform network management functions on behalf of one or more remote applications.
