摘要： An ink jet head for ejecting ink, has an ink ejecting portion having an ink ejecting port formed thereon so as to eject ink through the ink ejecting port, a positioning portion for definitely determining the position of the ink jet head relative to an apparatus using the ink jet head when the ink jet head is fitted to the apparatus, an ink supplying portion adapted to be connected an ink supplying unit while ink is supplied to the ink jet head, and an electric connecting portion adapted to be electrically connected to an electric connecting portion on the apparatus side so as to send and receive signals. The positioning portion, the ink supplying portion and the electric connecting portion are disposed on a different surface from a surface on which the ink ejecting portion is disposed and at least one of the electric portion and the ink supplying portion is disposed on an opposite side surface to a surface on which the positioning portion is disposed.

摘要： A liquid container including a first chamber for containing a reservoir of liquid, a second chamber containing a negative pressure producing material, an air vent for fluid communication with ambient air, a liquid supply port for supplying liquid out of the second chamber, a communication path for fluid communication between the first and second chambers where the first chamber is generally sealed by the ambient air except through the communication path, and a wall extending from the communication port. The communication path has a first region for permitting movement of air from the second chamber to the first chamber and a second region for permitting movement of the liquid from the first chamber to the second chamber.

摘要： A liquid storing container attachable and detachable to and from a recording device includes a negative pressure producing member storage chamber which has a bottom wall and opposed side walls and which accommodates a negative pressure producing member and is equipped with a liquid supplying section in the bottom wall and an atmosphere communication section. A partition wall separates the negative pressure producing member storage chamber from a liquid storage chamber and defines a communicating hole for establishing communication therebetween. A path in the vicinity of the communicating hole on the negative pressure producing member storage chamber side introduces the atmosphere from the negative pressure producing member storage chamber into the liquid storage chamber. The negative pressure producing member is made with a fiber material having directionality and the communication hole is offset from the bottom wall.

摘要： A replaceable ink cartridge, usable with a bubble jet printer, includes a container having front, back, top bottom and side walls, the container being divided internally into a first chamber and a second chamber having a common partition extending downward perpendicularly toward the bottom wall to provide an opening between the chambers formed by the partition proximate to the bottom wall. The first chamber contains a reservoir of liquid ink and is generally sealed from ambient air except through the opening, and the second chamber has an air vent for admitting ambient air into the second chamber and an ink supply outlet in the front wall. The second chamber contains a sponge-like material for retaining ink, at least one groove in the second chamber side of the partition extending from the opening and terminating at a point partly up the partition to form an air flow passage from the second chamber to the first chamber, the sponge-like material being positioned in the second chamber to permit flow of air from the air vent to the groove when the level of retained ink in the sponge-like material is proximate to the point where the groove terminates. The container is removably mountable in a printer mounting with the bottom wall facing downward and the ink supply outlet facing an ink jet print head so that the ink supply outlet is connectable to an ink port of the ink jet print head.

摘要： A replaceable ink cartridge, usable with a bubble jet printer, comprises a container formed by front, back, top and bottom walls, and two side walls providing major surfaces of said container, with a partition dividing the container into first and second chambers communicating with each other through an opening formed by the partition proximate to the bottom wall. The first chamber, which is generally sealed from ambient air except through the opening, contains a reservoir of liquid ink, and the second chamber contains a sponge-like material for producing a negative pressure whereby ink is deliverable from the first chamber through the opening to an ink supply outlet in the front wall proximate to the bottom wall. The partition has at least one groove for forming an air flow passage from the second chamber to the first chamber through the opening, thereby permitting introduction of air into the first chamber and flow of liquid ink to the ink supply outlet through the opening. The container is removably mountable in a printer mounting with the bottom wall facing downward and the front wall facing an ink jet print head so that the ink supply outlet is connectable to an ink port of the print head.
