    摘要: An object of the present invention is to provide novel liquid crystalline compounds having a negative and extremely large dielectric anisotropy value and a small optical anisotropy value together, to provide liquid crystal compositions comprising the liquid crystalline compound, and to provide liquid crystal display devices fabricated by using the liquid crystal composition; the liquid crystalline compounds have 2,3-difluorophenyl moiety and are expressed by the general formula (1) wherein Ra and Rb each independently represent a straight chain or branched alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms in which group any methylene group may be replaced by —O—, —CH═CH—, or —C≡C—, but there is not a case wherein —O— continues; ring A1 represents cyclohexane-1,4-diyl not adjacent any methylene group may be replaced by —O—; ring A2 represents 2,3-difluoro-1,4-phenylene in which phenylene hydrogen atoms at 5-position and 6-position may each independently be replaced by fluorine atoms; Z1 and Z2 each independently represent single bond or —CH2CH2—; Xa, Xb, Xc, and Xd each independently represent hydrogen atom, fluorine atom, or chlorine atom, but at least one of Xa, Xb, Xc, and Xd is fluorine atom or chlorine atom and any atom which constitutes the compound may be replaced by its isotope.

The disk drive includes a mechanism for pulling out the inner case to a pulled-out position from the outer case by more than a half of the inner case but not by entirety thereof; a mechanism for holding the inner case at the pulled-out position and rotating the optical disk; and a mechanism for reading/writing data on the optical disk.

    摘要: An air belt 2B has a bag-like belt potion 10 and a knit cover 12 that surround the bag-like belt portion 10. The bag-like portion 10 has a greater width in the part that fits to the passenger's body between the shoulder and abdomen. The enlarged part of the bag-like portion 10 is folded on top of itself to form a strap-like shape. The knit cover 12 is woven so that it is expandable in the direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the belt, but virtually not in the longitudinal direction. Upon activation of a gas generator 9 with a buckle 4 engaged with a tongue 5, the air belt 2B inflates. During the inflation, the length of the knit cover 12 shortens in the longitudinal direction of the belt 2B, thereby causing the belt 2B to tightly fit on the passenger's body. This ensures the proper protection of the passenger.

    摘要: In an image reconstruction method in a nuclear magnetic resonance imaging apparatus, the method comprises first and second steps to get detected data S.sub.I for at least about half of region inclusive of an origin and data S.sub.IV in a region symmetric with respect to a line passing through an origin on one of axes from the detected region in the acquired data space and parallel to the other axis, respectively, third and fourth steps to perform inverse Fourier transform on the data S.sub.I and S.sub.IV, respectively, a fifth step to get a complex conjugate value of the result obtained from Step 3, a sixth step to get a complex conjugate value of the result obtained from Step 4, a seventh step to calculate a phase map from the results obtained from the second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth steps, an eighth step to multiply the result obtained from step 6 by the phase map obtained from step 7 and to obtain a phase corrected data, and a ninth step to sum the result obtained from the third step and the result obtained from the eighth step. The method can thus obtain the whole reconstructed image.
