    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications provide for identification of multiple antenna panels at a user equipment (UE), and determination of panel-specific capabilities for the multiple antenna panels. A UE may determine whether simultaneous communications using two or more antenna panels is supported. The UE may determine that simultaneous communications using two or more antenna panels is supported based on a predetermined rule that indicates such simultaneous communications are supported or unsupported. Whether simultaneous communications on multiple panels is supported may be dependent upon a capability of the UE. The UE may transmit panel-specific capabilities to the base station, that may be used by the base station for subsequent communications between the UE and the base station.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for measurement and recovery of beamformed transmission beams in which an uplink beam and a downlink beam may be decoupled beams that use different beamforming parameters. In the event that a user equipment (UE) detects a failure of the downlink beam, an indication may be provided to a base station, and the downlink beam may be switched to correspond to the uplink beam. In the event that the UE detects a failure of the uplink beam the UE may identify a candidate beam and transmit a beam recovery message to the base station. The downlink beam may have an associated first set of reference signals, and the uplink beam may have an associated second set of reference signals, and beam failure may be determined based on the different sets of reference signals.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may determine, during a multi-slot downlink transmission, that a mapping from a transmission configuration information (TCI) state index to a first TCI state configuration has changed to a second TCI state configuration. The UE may select, based at least in part on the determined change, the first TCI state configuration or the second TCI state configuration to use for at least a portion of the multi-slot downlink transmission. The UE may receive the multi-slot downlink transmission during one or more slots according to the selected TCI state configuration and the TCI state index.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for configuration of resources to determine signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR). A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes transmitting, to a base station (BS), an indication that the UE is configured with at least one capability to support a combination of a channel measurement resource (CMR) and at least one interference measurement resource (IMR), if group based beam reporting is configured, receiving a reference signal (RS) resource setting for the CMR to perform channel measurement based, at least in part, on the capability of the UE, receiving at least one RS resource setting for the at least one IMR to perform interference measurement based, at least in part, on the capability of the UE, determining at least one signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) parameter based on results of performing the channel measurement and the interference measurement, and transmitting the SINR parameter to the BS.
