Abstract: A holographic display apparatus includes a spatial light modulator configured to generate hologram patterns to modulate light; an illuminator configured to emit the light to the spatial light modulator; and a controller configured to control operations of the spatial light modulator and the illuminator, the spatial light modulator being configured to generate, from among the hologram patterns, a first hologram pattern and a second hologram pattern according to the control operations of the controller, the first hologram pattern and the second hologram pattern being configured to form a first hologram image and a second hologram image having different viewpoints, and the controller being configured to set a first phase modulation value of the first hologram pattern and a second phase modulation value of the second hologram pattern to be different from each other such that hologram images having different viewpoints are formed.

Abstract: A multi-image display apparatus for augmented reality (AR) or mixed reality (MR) includes a diffractive optical lens element, an image forming device configured to form a first image including a first color image, a second color image, and a third color image, and an optical system configured to transfer the first image and a second image to the diffractive optical lens element, the second image transferred along a path different from a path of the first image. The optical system is configured to offset chromatic aberration of the diffractive optical lens element by providing different optical path lengths for the first color image, the second color image, and the third color image.

Abstract: A holographic display apparatus capable of steering a location of a viewing window according to a location of an observer is disclosed. The holographic display apparatus includes a light source; a spatial light modulator configured to modulate incident light and thereby reproduce the holographic image; a spatial filter configured to transmit only the holographic image; an eye tracker configured to track a pupil location of an observer; and a controller configured to adjust locations of the light source and the spatial filter in response to a change in the pupil location of the observer received from the eye tracker. The controller is configured to move the light source and the spatial filter simultaneously in the same direction by the same distance.
