Abstract: Apparatus and method for managing data in a non-volatile memory (NVM) having an array of ferroelectric memory cells (FMEs). A data set received from an external client device is programmed to a group of the FMEs at a target location in the NVM using a selected profile. The selected profile provides different program characteristics, such as applied voltage magnitude and pulse duration, to achieve desired levels of power used during the program operation, endurance of the data set, and latency effects associated with a subsequent read operation to retrieve the data set. The profile may be selected from among a plurality of profiles for different operational conditions. The ferroelectric NVM may form a portion of a solid-state drive (SSD) storage device. Different types of FMEs may be utilized including ferroelectric tunneling junctions (FTJs), ferroelectric random access memory (FeRAM), and ferroelectric field effect transistors (FeFETs).

Abstract: A data storage system can employ a read destructive memory configured with multiple levels. A non-volatile memory unit can be programmed with a first logical state in response to a first write voltage of a first hysteresis loop by a write controller prior to being programmed to a second logical state in response to a second write voltage of the first hysteresis loop, as directed by the write controller. The first and second logical states may be present concurrently in the non-volatile memory unit and subsequently read concurrently as the first logical state and the second logical state.

Abstract: A homomorphic encryption system evaluates homomorphically encrypted data, including receiving ciphertext input homomorphically encrypted from a plaintext input using a set-system including sets having an intersection property. An arithmetic function is evaluated on the ciphertext input to generate a ciphertext output, the arithmetic function including one or more additive gates and one or more multiplicative gates, wherein the evaluating operation generates errors during evaluation of the arithmetic function and the intersection property of the sets cancel out the errors during the evaluating operation. The ciphertext output is transmitted for homomorphic decryption to generate a plaintext result.

Abstract: Apparatus and method for managing metadata in a data storage device, such as a solid-state drive (SSD). In some embodiments, a non-volatile memory (NVM) includes a population of semiconductor memory dies. The dies are connected a number of parallel channels such that less than all of the semiconductor dies are connected to each channel. A controller circuit apportions the semiconductor memory dies into a plurality of die sets, with each die set configured to store user data blocks associated with a different user. A separate set of map data is generated to describe user data blocks stored to each die set. The controller circuit stores the respective sets of map data in the associated die sets so that no die set stores map data associated with a different die set. The die sets may be arranged in accordance with the NVMe (Non-Volatile Memory Express) specification.

The arithmetic evaluation function is performed on a ciphertext input homomorphically encrypted from a plaintext input using a set-system including sets having an intersection property. The ciphertext output is decrypted using a summation of two or more noise-canceling party identifiers of two or more authorized parties, wherein the intersection property of the sets cancels out errors generated during the decrypting operation for the two or more authorized parties.
