    摘要: In a preferred embodiment, a dual panel vehicle rear closure assembly is actuated by a cable drive assembly. Cables push a rear panel upward from a closed position to a second position above the roof. The cables may then push both panels forward toward a third position to open a rear opening in the roof. A motor pushes the cables through channels to slide the rear panel. Free ends of cables are guided into cable return tubes. Compression assist springs in the tubes are compressed by the cables when the rear panel is in its closed position and provide a counterbalance force to assist in opening the panel. The compression springs may be shorter than the full cable. The shorter springs can be made stronger for applying the balancing forces to the lower portion of the panel travel.

    摘要: In an automotive sun roof system, each of the front sliders is provided with at least three laterally extending slide shoes including a front inboard slide shoe, a rear inboard slide shoe and a front outboard slide shoe located intermediate between the inboard slide shoes with respect to a fore-and-aft direction, and the guide rail is provided with an inboard side defining an inboard guide slot and an outboard side defining an outboard guide slot adapted to receive the corresponding slide shoes, the outboard side of the guide rail being provided with a front end which is rearwardly offset from that of the inboard side of the guide rail. Thus, the front end of each guide rail is advanced as much as possible without increasing the exposure of such parts to the moisture that may drip from the fixed roof panel and/or moveable panel by taking into account the rounded shape of the opening in the fixed roof panel. Therefore, the position of the front sliders for the moveable panel can be advanced by a corresponding degree, and the overhang of the moveable panel from the front sliders can be minimized.

    摘要: The present invention provides a reconfigurable intermediate panel (RIP) arranged between the cab and the cargo bed of a vehicle. The vehicle has a vehicle body structure that separates the cab and the cargo bed. The RIP is arranged within an opening in the vehicle body structure for providing access to the cab from the cargo bed. The RIP includes a door structure having first and second opposing portions adjacent to opposing sides of the opening when the RIP is in a closed position. A plurality of cable spans the first and second portions for strengthening the door structure and barring the entry of cargo from the cargo bed into the cab when the structure is in the closed position. In one embodiment, the cables extend from opposing portions of a door frame. In another embodiment, the cables are embedded in a plastic panel, which is secured to a door frame. Accordingly, the above invention provides an RIP that provides an improved structural barrier between the cargo bed and the cab from heavy cargo.

A slidable lower closure element supported by said stationary part can move forward and backward, to which end it is slidably guided in guide rails at its edges or outer portions. The lower closure element includes hook members as engaging elements at said edges, which engage in the associated guide rails and which run substantially clear of the guide rails during normal operation of the open roof construction. The engaging elements will move into engagement with the guide rails when an excessive, upward load is exerted on the lower closure element, so as to retain said lower closure element in its correct position. In this way there is provided additional protection against the sun screen being forced out.

The guideways may be guide grooves, whose bottom is curved, seen in cross-sectional view, whereas the sliding shoes exhibit a curvature adapted thereto on the side that faces towards the bottom of the associated guide groove, seen in cross-sectional view. The sliding shoes and the guideways can also be in form-locked engagement with each other within the normal range of movement, so they can be moved into and out of engagement with each other outside the normal range of movement.
