    摘要: A boat steering mechanism for permitting a remotely mounted rudder control by means of a push-pull control cable, comprising a rack being formed with a groove for inserting an inner cable, a projection projecting from the center or its vicinity of a rack casing into which the rack is slidably inserted, an inclined hole for slidably inserting the inner cable, perforated through the projection into the groove, a triangular guide portion having an inclined plane which continues from the lower end of the inclined hole and projecting from the inner wall of the rack casing into the groove so as to be inserted into the groove and a fitting member for fastening on one end of the inner cable, secured to the rack at one end of the groove, whereby the push-pull control cable can be provided with a large curvature and the sliding resistance of the whole mechanism can be decreased.

    摘要: An apparatus for driving and controlling a watercraft or the like having at least one pair of steerable propellers, the steerable propellers of each pair being located substantially symmetrically on opposite sides of the center line of the watercraft, such center line extending through the center of lateral resistance of the watercraft. A control element is provided for carrying out control movements in two degrees of freedom. Each control movement acts for remote control of the steerable propellers through transmitters corresponding respectively to such steerable propellers. Movement of the control element in one degree of freedom effects a rotation about an axis for controlling, through the transmitters, a synchronous pivoting of the servo propellers of each pair. Movement of the control element in the second degree of freedom effects movement of a rack element for controlling, through the same transmitters, an oppositely directed pivoting of the servo propellers relative to one another.

    摘要: A marine drive has a high aspect ratio, counterbalanced vane on the propulsion unit for generating hydrodynamic torque when rotated. Control cables fastened to a bar on the vane post extend to the rear end of a lever mounted on the steering arm of the marine drive. The forward end of the lever receives the control rod of the boat steering mechanism. Movement of the control rod moves the lever, pulling one or the other control cable and rotating the vane. The lever is so mounted on the steering arm that movements of the control rod are magnified in operating the control cables. Vane rotation may be used to counteract propeller torque components causing course deviations to the boat and to provide torque for turning the marine drive.

    摘要: A stick-type steering mechanism for outboard motorboats wherein the steering stick is mounted on the side of the boat in a convenient position for the operation of the craft and may be pivoted about one end for effecting steering of the boat. At least two positions of connection between the stick and the motor or rubber are provided for achieving a variable mechanical ratio for steering of the boat whereby rapid steering response is possible during slow speeds of the boat, and lesser force and slower steering is possible during periods of fast travel or high speeds. In addition, the upper portion of the stick may be removed when not in use to provide less obstruction with the normal utilization of the boat.

    摘要: A remote steering assembly for a boat incorporating a pivotally supported steering stick rigid in relation to a grooved wheel to which a steering cable is connected and entrained in such a manner to steerably control the boat from a point adjacent the bow and one side of the boat. The structure of the wheel and its associated structure is such that the cable will be retained in the groove thereby eliminating the possibility of disengagement of the cable. The stick steering enables a person adjacent the bow of the boat to control the direction of the boat and the stick may be oriented in a stored or inoperative position below the top edge of the gunwale of the boat so that a person occupying the front seat thereof may fish off the side of the boat without interference from the steering stick.
