Abstract:
An end roller of a curved conveyor has an pivot shaft and a plurality of short rollers rotatably mounted on the pivot shaft. A bearing with an outer race of a larger outer diameter than the outer diameter of the short roller is interposed between at least the adjacent short rollers located near an outer peripheral side of the belt. A bearing having an outer race of the same size outer diameter as the outer diameter of the short rollers may also applicable. Frictional noises from the end rollers during the rotation of the conveyor belt may be suppressed.
Abstract:
The invention provides a curved belt support apparatus (300) that prevents a curved belt (200) from moving inward by supporting a thick part (220) of the curved belt that thickens in both vertical directions at the outer edge of the belt. An upper roller (370) is brought in contact with the upper inside surface (221) of the thick part (220), a lower guide roller (380) is brought in contact with the lower guide roller (380) is brought in contact with the lower inside surface (222) of the thick part (200), and the upper and lower guide rollers are elastically supported such that they can move up and down. When operated, the upper guide roller (370) and the lower guide roller (380) are moved diagonally upward and downward, respectively, in the direction of the radial inner edge of the curved belt so that the thick part (220) of the belt is released from the upper and lower guide rollers.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a method for connecting the belt ends (9, 10) of transport belts (1) using a closure aid (13) that comprises a plurality of closure aid elements (14, 15) that are fastened at a distance from one another in the region of the two belt ends (9, 10) in such a way that they link the belt ends (9, 10), the closure aid elements (14, 15) having tensioning elements (23) that pull the belt ends (9, 10) toward one another, and the belt ends (9, 10) then being connected to one another by means of coupling elements (11, 12) and the closure aid (13) then being removed from the transport belt (1). Lashing straps (14, 15) having a lashing mechanism (23) are used as closure aid elements, actuation thereof reducing the distance between the belt ends (9, 10). The invention further concerns a transport belt (1) having coupling elements (11, 12) mounted on its front belt ends (9, 10), and a closure aid (13) for temporary connection of the front belt ends (9, 10) of the transport belt (1).
Abstract:
A transport device in a packaging machine includes a plurality of circulating transport chains which each travel over at least one chain wheel. In order to be able to adjust the transport device to differing formats for the bulk product and/or the packaging, the chain wheels can be adjusted with respect to each other in a peripheral direction upon a support shaft. In order to effect as simple and compact a construction as possible, a hydraulic fastening device is provided for fixing the chain wheels relative to each other, wherein the fastening device can be deactivated by means of a releasing device to effect adjustment. The chain wheels can be radially fixed to the shaft by the hydraulic fastening device. It is however also possible for the chain wheels to be disposed on coaxial shaft members which can be adjusted with respect to each other in the peripheral direction and which can be fixed to each other by the hydraulic fastening device.
Abstract:
Method for chain drive, whereby the chain, such as a transmission chain, conveyor chain and/or like, is formed of several shaped pieces (1), that are connected to each other one after another at jointing points (N) by means of joint pins, and that is being driven by means of a wheel arrangement, that includes at least one chain wheel (7), such as a drive wheel, a turning wheel or the like. Particularly wearing of the chain, that is due to bending of the chain essentially along the longitudinal direction (p) of the joint pins, is being minimized by taking advantage of joint pins (x), the cross section of which changes in the longitudinal direction (p). The invention also relates to chain functioning according to the method.
Abstract:
A low-noise chain member comprises a bushing, a roller and oil grooves in which a wedge or squeeze effect of a lubricating oil, which is interposed between the bushing and the roller, is effective in reducing noise. The oil grooves are provided on at least one of the outer surface of the bushing and the inner face of the roller. The inner face of the roller is formed with a curved surface so as to conform to the contour of a curved outer surface of the bushing. A clearance between the inner face of the roller and the outer surface of the bushing is not widened around both ends of the roller. Only a small amount of the lubricating oil between the roller and the bushing escapes to the outside, of the roller and bushing, so that a fluid lubricating state between the bushing and the roller is maintained.
Abstract:
A flexible conveyor belt having layers of oppositely extending cord members which abut each other at the lateral centerline of the conveyor belt. The angle of the cord members in each successive layer may be opposed to that of the previous layer. The conveyor belt includes an elastomeric body having spaced apart edge portions and a top and bottom surface. An internal stretch limiter, such as an angularly woven fabric, is disposed in the central region of the belt along the lateral centerline of the belt. Because the angle of the cord members in each successive layer are opposed to each other, the belt is strengthened. Because the angled cord members abut each other along the lateral centerline, the sideways forces acting on the belt are negated. Because stretch limiting devices are provided along the lateral centerline, the belt may be pretensioned up to the limit of the elongation of the stretch limiter and remain under tension during use to enable the inner and outer edges to negotiate horizontal curves while retaining material thereon during the curves.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a conveyor belt comprised of a load-carrying side and a backing side made of elastomer material as well as a traction support area made of steel cables or cords located between the load-carrying side and the backing side. In one variation, the backing side consists of an outer wearing coat which has a rebound resilience of at least 70% and of an intermediate layer between the traction support area and the wearing coat, where a reflector is present within the intermediate layer. In a further variation, the backing side consists of a wearing coat which also has a rebound resilience of at least 70%, with a reflector within the wearing coat, but without an intermediate layer. In both variations, the reflector is advantageously arranged in direct proximity to the traction support area, where the width of the reflector takes up a maximum of 80% of the entire width of the conveyor belt, at an essentially equal distance from the outer edges.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an open web (10) suitable for use in conveying bodies such as root crops and stones and clods, comprising at least two elongate belts (11) extending parallel to each other in spaced apart relation, and a plurality of rods (12) mounted in parallel spaced apart relation across the belts (11). Connecting portions (13) of the rods (12) are enclosed and embedded within the body of the belts (11), and tensile reinforcing (20) extend longitudinally in the body of at least one of the belts (11) so as to provide a tensile load support therefor. According to this invention, a reinforcing link (32,34,36,38) is substantially embedded in at least one belt (11) having tensile reinforcing (20) embedded therein, and is formed and arranged so as to link at least one of the rod connecting portions (13) to the tensile reinforcing (20) whereby the tensile reinforcing (20) and the at least one rod connecting portion (13) linked thereto, are restrained or retained against movement away from one another.
