Data of electrical resistance value when the IC tag is activated is received by the detector through a returned radio wave returned from the tag in response to the transmitted radio wave transmitted from the detector toward the tag embedded in the conveyor belt running. A temperature at a position of the conveyor belt where the tag is embedded is calculated in accordance with the data of the electrical resistance value received and the correlation data.

Rubber blends of SBR and EPDM having improved dynamic ozone resistance, heat resistance, and flex fatigue resistance can be made by co-curing such rubber blends with a sulfur donor/accelerator and a peroxide curing agent. In some aspects, these blends are void of free sulfur. These cured rubber formulations can advantageously be used in a wide variety of industrial rubber products, such as in conveyor belts. The disclosure also reveals conveyor belts which have a combination of good dynamic ozone resistance, heat resistance, and flex fatigue resistance. The conveyor belt include a carry cover layer, a pulley cover layer, and a reinforcement layer which is situated between the carry cover layer and the pulley cover layer, and the carry cover layer and/or the pulley cover layer contain cured rubber formulations according to the disclosure.

The cover layer is formed by curing an admixture containing at least a cross-linkable functionalized polyethylene and polyethylene polyolefin. According to the disclosure, the cured admixture is effectively maintained within the cover layer during use of the conveyor belt. In some cases, the load carrying surface maintains a wet clay cleanability value of greater than 3, or even a wet clay cleanability value of greater than 4.4. The cross-linkable functionalized polyethylene may be a cross-linkable oxidized polyethylene. In some aspects, the cross-linkable functionalized polyethylene does not form a polyethylene film upon the load carrying surface.

Due to deterioration that may occur when certain polyvinyl chloride resins are used as the exterior surface of the conveyor belt, a second polymer is disposed over the cured layer of polyvinyl chloride to define an exterior surface that is configured for resiliently interfacing with a die press of a cutting or stamping station. The second polymer may be a polyester to provide improved resiliency and an exterior surface with better durability than the first polymer.
