Abstract:
A device for enriching a fluid with ozone includes an inner tubular member arranged within an outer tubular member and defining a separate flow path for a fluid within the inner tubular member and another one for a fluid between the inner and outer tubular members. An electrode which has a high voltage regulation and a coil portion which extends through the inner tubular member forms a grounding electrode. A fluid such as air which is to be enriched with ozone is passed either through the inner tubular member or the space between the two tubular members and a cooling fluid is passed in the other tubular member. The inner tubular member is made of an ultraviolet penetrable and heat resistant material such as quartz glass.
Abstract:
A device for producing ozone is characterized by an inner electrode made from a plurality of metal wires. Accordingly, the diameter of the outer electrode is correspondingly reduced. The ratio of the outer diameter electrode to the inner diameter electrode is greater than two.
Abstract:
An air ionizer for installation in the air intake path of an internal combustion engine, to introduce ozone and other oxidizing agents into the engine with acceptable levels of air flow restriction and at a sufficient concentration level to substantially improve combustion within the engine. A glass tube is filled with an inert gas and has an inner electrode extending a short distance into an end of the tube. A foraminous copper outer electrode substantially surrounds the glass tube and is slightly spaced apart from it. A high voltage is applied between the inner and outer electrodes, so that when air flows past the tube, ozone and other oxidizing agents are generated between the outer surface of the tube and the outer electrode, and escape into the air stream through the holes in the outer electrode.
Abstract:
A concentric-tube type ozone generator wherein the lower end portion of the interior of the tube contains a supply of oil which contacts the inner side of the inner tube wall above the inner electrode to prevent the flow of creep currents between the inner and outer electrodes. A second supply of oil can be confined in the upper end portion of the inner tube wall above the inner electrode. The inner electrode may consist of a metallic foil which is biased against the inner side of the inner tube wall by a helical spring. The outer electrode may constitute a helically convoluted metallic wire. Two or more tubes can be mounted above each other with the outlet at the lower end of the upper tube in communication with the inlet at the upper end of the lower tube.
Abstract:
An electrostatic air filter having an air duct defined in part by opposed walls over which liquid flows continuously. An electrode is suspended between the aforesaid walls and cooperates therewith to purify the air flowing through the duct. The electrode is connected to a high voltage source and is preferably divided into two parts, one of which is designed to produce a strong ionization with spray discharge.
Abstract:
APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING ALLOTROPIC OXYGEN OR OZONE INCLUDING A TUBE HAVING A GASEOUS FILLING WHICH WHEN SUBJECTED TO HIGH VOLTAGE IN THE TUBE IS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A RADIATION OF ENERGY THROUGH THE TUBE.AN ENCIRCLING PERFORATED GRID IS PROVIDED ON THE TUBE AND ENERGY RADIATED FROM THE TUBE SETS UPON AN INDUCTANCE WITH THE GRID TO PRODUCE ALLOTRPIC OXYGEN. AN ELECTRODE EXTENDS SUBSTANTIALLY THE FULL LENGTH OF THE TUBE WHEREBY THE RADIATION OF ENERGY OCCURS THROUGHOUT SUBSTANTIALLY THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF THE TUBE. A PLURALITY OF THE TUBES ARE MOUNTED IN A SUPPORT HOUSING FOR MULTIPLE OUTPUT. THE HOUSING HAS A HORIZONTAL SUPPORT WALL FOR THE TUBES PROVIDING EASY ATTACHMENT AND DETACHMENT THEREOF. THE TUBES ARE ENCLOSED WITHIN THE HOUSING AND THE INLET FOR AIR FORCED THERETHROUGH IS FILTER TO MAINTAIN THE TUBES IN A SUBSTANTIALLY DUST FREE ENCLOSURE.
