Abstract: A water treatment system includes an ozone generator combined with an electrolytic chlorine generator in a compact, efficient and serviceable assembly. The system may include a modular and replaceable ozone generator, which allows a damaged or non-functional ozone generator to be quickly and efficiently replaced. In order to protect the ozone generator from damage, a fail-safe drain valve assembly may also be provided which will expel backflowing pool water before it is allowed to backflow into the ozone generator. The water treatment system may further include an insulated electrolytic chlorine generator that mitigates or eliminates current leakage for efficient operation.

Abstract: Embodiments of the subject invention relate to a small modular self-contained surface plasma device for decontamination of air and surfaces within enclosed volumes. Embodiments of the subject invention relate to a method and apparatus using the technical process of dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) surface plasma generation from ambient atmosphere for decontamination of air and surfaces within enclosed volumes. The primary application mode is for preservation of perishable commodities within industrial shipping containers through reduction of surface spoilage organisms and destruction of evolved gaseous ethylene that causes premature ripening. Additional implementations include deployment for oxidation of surfaces and/or container atmospheres in applications to diminish or eradicate pesticides, toxins, chemical residues, and other natural or introduced contaminants. Other embodiments envisioned include incorporation of device capabilities and or ancillary modules for feedback input (e.g. ozone sensor(s) to maintain steady state levels, self-tuning circuitry to adjust operating frequency), communication (e.g. among modules, RFID data loggers, Wi-Fi output), and programing (e.g. user input of container volume, transit time, ozone level, etc.).

Abstract: A water treatment system comprises a flow path through a first activated carbon filter, a second activated carbon filter downstream of the first activated carbon filter, a particulate filter downstream of the second activated carbon filter, for example a ceramic membrane, and a UV sterilizer downstream of the particulate filter. Ozone is introduced into the process water ahead of a water storage vessel for storing treated water produced by the system. A recycle subsystem is periodically operated to withdraw treated water from the water storage vessel to form recycled water, introduce the recycled water to the water lines upstream of the UV sterilizer, and return the recycled water to the water storage vessel. A main programmable logic controller (PLC) controls a flow of the process water through the water treatment system and controls the recycle subsystem.

Abstract: A transportable system for generating aqueous ozone solution includes a hand truck carrying one or more auxiliary compartments containing respective mixing assemblies that are fluidically coupled to an ozone supply unit. At least one mixing assembly includes a first flow path for water to flow through and a second flow path in parallel with the first flow path. The first flow path includes one or more ozone intake ports that are fluidically coupled to one or more ozone output ports of the ozone supply unit. The second flow path includes a control valve that selectively permits a portion of the water to flow through the second flow path to produce a negative pressure in the first flow path so that ozone is drawn into the first flow path and mixed into the water flowing through the first flow path to produce an aqueous ozone solution.

Abstract: A water purification system provides clean water for the consumption by livestock by using a continuously recirculating water loop. A circulating pump moves the water within the water loop in a flow direction. A particle filter system is fluidically connected in series and removes dissolved solids or particulates within the water. An ozone purification system and/or with the addition of other antimicrobial or purification agents is fluidically connected in parallel to a portion of the continuously recirculating feedback monitored and control water loop. The ozone purification system is disposed downstream of the particle filter system in relation to the flow direction. A feeding station is connected in series with the continuously recirculating water loop disposed downstream of the ozone purification system in relation to the flow direction. An alkaline water apparatus is disposed upstream of the ozone purification unit, connected either before or in parallel to the ozone purification system.

Abstract: A water treatment device includes a grounding electrode having a planar flowing water portion that causes treatment target water to flow, a multiple of wire form high voltage electrodes provided parallel with the flowing water portion in a position distanced from the flowing water portion of the grounding electrode and to extend in a direction intersecting a flow direction of the treatment target water, and a blowing device that forms a gas flow that intersects an extension direction of the high voltage electrode and intersects an extension direction of an electrical discharge. This kind of configuration is such that even when water droplets adhere to the high voltage electrode, the water droplets are blown away by a pressure of the gas flow formed by the blowing device, and a spark discharge is restricted.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention describe the formation of a current source, a light source, and an ozone generator by using a coated double dielectric barrier discharge system (CDDBD). A system for generating charge may include a CDDBD having at least two electrodes that are separated by a gap filled with a gas medium, wherein each of the at least two electrodes are covered with an insulator that prevents charges in the at least two electrodes from passing through the gas medium, and wherein surfaces of each of the at least two insulators are coated with a material having a secondary electron emission coefficient higher than a material of the insulator. Furthermore, the system for generating the charge may also include a power supply coupled with the CDDBD device that supplies energy to the CDDBD device to form an initial electric field.
