The part of the main coupling path bypassed by the sub coupling path includes at least one capacitive coupling path.

    摘要: A waveguide bandpass filter for use in microwave and millimeter-wave satellite communications equipment is presented. The filter is based on a substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) having several cascaded oversized SIW cavities. The filter is implemented in a printed circuit board (PCB) or a ceramic substrate using arrays of standard metalized via holes to define the perimeters of the SIW cavities. Transmission lines of a microstrip line, a stripline or coplanar waveguide are used as input and output feeds. The transmission lines have coupling slots for improved stopband performance. The filter can be easily integrated with planar circuits for microwave and millimeter wave applications.

    摘要: The invention relates to a resonance filter (1) made of silicon for use in the micrometer and millimeter wave length range. Accordingly, a resonance filter having low loss and a high Q-factor is provided, comprising two layers. A first layer thereof carries only resonance cavities and a second layer carries only coupling cavities. Furthermore, a method for the production of the filter according to the invention is provided. This enables the cost-effective production of the resonance filter by means of KOH or TMAH etching technology.

The transmission medium includes at least one first frequency selective surface (FSS) layer, at least one second FSS layer, and a dielectric layer separating the at least one first FSS layer and the at least one second FSS layer. In a particular embodiment, the apparatus also includes a first coupler coupled to the transmission medium to send a signal along the transmission medium and a second coupler coupled to the transmission medium. The second coupler may receive signals via the transmission medium, receive power via the transmission medium to power devices coupled to the second coupler, process and send data via the transmission medium, or any combination thereof.

    摘要: Disclosed is a waveguide-type dielectric filter, which comprises a dielectric block, a plurality of resonators formed in the dielectric block, and a coupling portion for adjusting the coupling between the adjacent resonators. The dielectric block includes a pair of dielectric substrates which are divided in the arranging direction of the resonators and joined together through joint surfaces thereof, and a slot formed between the joint surfaces. The slot defines a through-hole severing as the coupling portion between the adjacent resonators. The slot may be formed in each of the joint surfaces or may be formed in only one of the joint surfaces. The above dielectric filter may include input and output sections, and a conductive film may be formed between the joint surfaces to provide a coupling portion of the input or output section. The present invention can provide a waveguide-type dielectric filter capable of being readily produced without causing any problem of mechanical strength.

    摘要: An embodiment of the present invention provides a voltage-controlled tunable filter, comprising a tunable ridged waveguide filter formed from a first ridged waveguide cavity coupled to a second ridged waveguide cavity thereby forming a resonator; and one or more tunable capacitors in at least one of said first or second waveguide cavity. The coupling between said first ridged waveguide and said second ridged waveguide may be via a coupling iris or ridged post and the one or more tunable capacitors may comprise a low loss tunable dielectric material and metallic electrodes with predetermined shape, size, and distance. In an embodiment of the present invention the one or more tunable capacitors may be MEMS tunable capacitors that are either parallel plate or interdigital topology. The tunable ridged waveguide filter may be formed from two or more ridged-waveguide resonators and may include an RF Input and RF output connected to the resonator and may be direct coupling probes that are either electric or magnetic. Further, the RF input and RF output proximity coupling may be either electric or magnetic. The inter-cavity coupling may be controlled by the distance and area of the ridged posts.
