    摘要: Improved structural members including solid and hollow core beams, poles, columns and enclosure structures formed of a cement-based slurry infiltrated fiber composite material. The improved structural members are produced by first placing a plurality of individual short fibers or fiber mats of organic or inorganic materials into a form to create a bed of fibers substantially filling the form and having a predetermined fiber volume density and then adding a cement-based slurry mixture into the form to completely infiltrate the spaces between the fibers. Existing structural members may be retrofitted with jackets of the cement-based slurry infiltrated fiber composite material. The cement-based slurry mixture includes a composition of Portland cement or blended cement, fly ash, water, a high-range water reducer (superplasticizer), and may also include fine grain sand, ground granulated blast-furnace slag, chemical admixtures, and other additives. Due to its fiber volume density and method of manufacture, the resulting structure has greater strength, less maintenance, and less cracking and deterioration than wood, steel, or conventional reinforced concrete and pre-stressed concrete structures, and a much higher bending capacity approximating that of structural steel.

    摘要: An environmental enclosure structure formed of a cement-based slurry infiltrated fiber composite material is used above ground or underground to enclose, protect, and safely contain; hazardous materials, telecommunications equipment, volatile explosives, and the like. The preferred enclosure structure is a box-like enclosure formed of a cement-based slurry infiltrated fiber composite material which is produced by first placing a plurality of individual short fibers or fiber mats of organic or inorganic materials into a form to create a bed of fibers substantially filling the form and having a predetermined fiber volume density and then adding a cement-based slurry mixture into the form to completely infiltrate the spaces between the fibers. The cement-based slurry mixture includes a composition of Portland cement, fly ash, water, a high-range water reducer (superplasticizer), and may also include fine grain sand, chemical admixtures, and other additives. Due to its fiber volume density and method of manufacture, the resulting structure has thinner walls, greater strength, and a gross weight significantly less than conventional reinforced and pre-stressed concrete structures of the same size, and a much higher bending capacity approximating that of structural steel.

    摘要: An installation for the fabrication of a series of cells constituting a single construction unit such as a dwelling house or a building story includes a fabrication bed which carries members for subdividing a single placement of concrete into serveral distinct slabs each forming part of one cell. These subdividing members are removably fixed on the fabrication bed in various positions according to the intended width of the cells. The subdividing members carry a device for temporarily immobilizing the two prefabricated panels placed on each side, each device being constituted by a post, the lower end of which can be fixed in an adjustable position on the corresponding subdividing member, and by an external shore of adjustable length.

    摘要: A dual containment, free-standing, earthquake resistant, above-ground, flammable liquid storage vault is made by first pouring a reinforced concrete outer tank having a flat bottom, for stability, and side walls. The inner surface of the concrete outer tank is covered with an epoxy resin, the epoxy resin acting as an outer liquid barrier to provide secondary containment. A layer of gravel is placed on the epoxy resin covering the bottom of the outer tank. A primary containment steel inner tank is then placed in the outer tank with a space between the walls of the inner and outer tanks. That space is then filled with concrete when a concrete cap is poured covering the inner tank. Leaks from the inner tank are monitored at the gravel layer. The concrete outer tank has integrally formed skids extending from its lower surface for ease of movement and for visual inspection beneath the vault for leaks. The vault can also be made by placing the inner tank within a freestanding, open-top shell; the combination is then encased in reinforced concrete.

    摘要: An adjustable mold for casting stairways of concrete enables the total length of a stairway and also the dimension of the separate steps to be adjusted. The mold includes a longitudinal horizontal frame supporting two identical parallel articulated arm systems positioned scissor-like and being linked together at intersection points of arms of the system along a longitudinal center axis thereof. At oppositely located and linked outer ends of the arms are provided pivotable supports for a number of step units, each of which includes an upstep and an instep. An inner edge of each instep substantially by its own weight rest against the upstep of an adjacent step unit. The total length of the articulated arm link system may be adjusted, thereby simultaneously adjusting the distance between adjacent step units. Also, the angular position of the step units relative to the support frame can be adjusted.

    摘要: The invention relates to an open type box-unit with multi-purpose application for the complex industrial construction of prefabricated houses, of buildings with different numbers of stories, and to molding apparatus for its production. The box-unit has a floor and roof structure with a spatially reinforced concrete framework consisting of two longitudinal frames and transverse frames; the cross bars of the longitudinal frames have a reinforced cross section asymmetrical to the cross section of the columns and an uninterrupted reinforcement in a closed shape. At modular distances in the cross bars of the longitudinal frames there are provided critical zones with cross sections doubled with regard to the cross bars and the columns of the end transverse frames. These critical zones are designed for the connection of the reinforcement of the cross bars and the columns of the middle frames having variable cross sections. The molding facility comprises lower forms split in sections along the transverse axis of which there are form members connected with a system of hydraulic units. On an inverted U-shaped plain girder there are horizontal forms sectional in a transverse direction with upper forms on a system of stabilized Nurnberg shears there are external and internal sectional vertical forms. The molding facility is equipped with grouting units.

    摘要: An apparatus for centrifugally casting a rectangular access floor panel includes a turntable, a drive for rotating the turntable about a generally vertical axis in a generally horizontal plane, and a mold clamped to the turntable. The mold is vibrated during rotation to insure void-free distribution of a lightweight concrete mixture throughout a metal pan retained within the mold. A hopper and an auger feed the concrete mixture to the mold through a sprue. The mold retains corner pads and silencer buttons. The corner pads cooperate with pedestal heads to eliminate the need for stringers.
