Abstract: Systems and methods are provided to detect a failed thermocouple. A temperature in a gas path of a gas turbine engine may be measured, where the temperature is based on a signal generated by a thermocouple during a startup of the gas turbine engine and/or during an idle period that immediately follows the startup, and the thermocouple protrudes into the gas path. A failure of the thermocouple may be detected if the temperature is determined to be less than a threshold temperature.

Abstract: A diffuser assembly is disclosed for conditioning the effluent of a centrifugal compressor. The diffuser assembly comprises an annular conduit, a first set of vanes, and a second set of vanes. The annular conduit comprises a first wall and a second wall displaced from each other and cooperating to define an inlet, an outlet, and a passage extending from the inlet to the outlet. The passage has a first linear portion, a curved portion, and a second linear portion. The first set of vanes are positioned in the first linear portion of said passage. The second set of vanes are positioned in the curved portion of the passage. Each vane of the second set of vanes curves axially and laterally from a vane leading edge to a vane trailing edge.

Abstract: A gas turbine engine component may include an airfoil extending radially from a base to a blade tip, the airfoil including a pressure sidewall and a suction sidewall each extending between a leading edge and a trailing edge opposite the leading edge, an internal cooling circuit extending from the base to the blade tip; and a squealer tip. The squealer tip may include a first and a second squealer tip rail adjacent to the first squealer tip rail, and a squealer tip cap extending between the first and second squealer tip rails. The blade tip, the first and second squealer tip rails, and the squealer tip cap may define an internal squealer tip cooling channel. The blade tip may define a supply aperture that fluidly connect the internal cooling circuit and the internal squealer tip cooling channel.

The system includes a computing device including a machine learning module and a control module. The machine learning module is configured to determine, based on at least the plurality of control parameters, an at least one time-dependent acoustic data signal, an at least one image data signal, and the plurality of process outputs, a relationship between the plurality of control parameters and the plurality of process outputs by machine learning. The control module is configured to control the thermal spray system to adjust the plurality of process outputs toward a plurality of respective operating ranges.

Abstract: A turbine shroud assembly for use with a gas turbine engine includes a carrier assembly coupled to a blade track segment, and a sheet-metal seal that seals on axial and radial facing surfaces therebetween. The blade track segment includes a shroud wall that extends circumferentially partway around an axis and an attachment feature that extends radially outward from the shroud wall. The carrier is coupled with the attachment feature to support the blade track segment.
