    Abstract: Methods and apparatus for access node selection, and optimization of antenna direction and performance, within a power-limited system. In one embodiment, the system utilizes “quasi-licensed” CBRS (Citizens Broadband Radio Service) wireless spectrum in conjunction with a controller that dynamically adjusts antenna direction for receiving/transmitting information at an installed fixed wireless apparatus (FWA) at user or subscriber premises. In one variant, the FWA receives data on candidate access nodes (CBSDs), and includes controller logic that compares received power levels for candidate access nodes with the power levels estimated from path loss models, and optimizes antenna azimuth to maximize the antenna gain towards the selected access nodes. As such, service calls to optimize antenna performance after initial installation are not required, and network operating expenses are thereby reduced. Dynamic node reselection and optimization may also be used in instances of CBSD/spectrum withdrawal, changes in physical environment, and other applications.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatus for enhancing communication and performance for a device backhauled by a wireline communication network. In one embodiment, the device comprises a small-cell or other wireless base station that is backhauled by a DOCSIS system within a managed HFC network, and the method and apparatus enable enhanced communication between the small cell/base station and the backhaul network so as to support “rate matching” between the device to mitigate packet overflow or other issues. In one implementation, enhanced cable modem (CM) and base station devices coordinate to inform the base station of the modulation order (and/or other parameters related to transmission of the data destined for the base station on the backhaul) so that the base station can selectively invoke utilization of higher-order modulation and/or coding schemes, as well as spatial multiplexing or beamforming.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatus for enhancing packet scheduler fairness in a small-cell wireless communication network. In one embodiment, the methods and apparatus utilize “quasi-licensed” CBRS (Citizens Broadband Radio Service) wireless spectrum in conjunction with 3GPP wireless communication network (e.g. 4G LTE or 5GNR) for the delivery of services to a number of enhanced CPE (consumer premises equipment), such as fixed wireless apparatus (FWAe). The various FWAe report Channel Quality Indicator (CQI) data to their respective serving base stations over time, and each base station both builds a statistical characterization of each FWAe, and maps the CQI data to a prescribed configuration (e.g., to the Modulation and Coding Scheme (MCS)) adaptively for the transmission of the data to the FWAe, and development of a scheduler priority for each FWAe. In one implementation, once the CQI values are stable for a given FWAe, CQI reporting is terminated for a period of time.

    Abstract: The presentation invention relates to methods and apparatus for coordinating the buffering and transmission of data between a Cable Modem Termination System (CMTS) and a wireless base station.     Abstract: An aspect includes a method for use with a mobile communications device comprising a plurality of subscriber identification modules sharing a cache. The method includes a first subscriber identification module authenticating with and connecting to the network, followed by a second subscriber identification module authenticating with and connecting to the network. The method also includes, while the first subscriber identification module is requesting and receiving first data from the network and storing the first data in the cache, the second identification module requesting and receiving second data from the network and storing the second data in the cache. The method further includes an application executing on the device retrieving and processing at least a portion of the first and second data stored in the cache, while at least one of the first and second subscriber identification modules is storing additional data received from the network in the cache.
