Disclosed herein is a method comprising disposing in a formation fracture, a proppant and/or a fracturing fluid that comprises a radiation susceptible material that comprises indium and/or vanadium; irradiating the radiation susceptible material with neutrons; measuring gamma-radiation emitted from the radiation susceptible material in a single pass; wherein the single pass does not involve measuring of background radiation from previous or subsequent logging passes; and determining formation fracture height from the measured gamma-radiation.

In one embodiment, a method generally includes monitoring network traffic associated with a first network device comprising at least one of a plurality of virtual machines and determining if a parameter exceeds a predefined threshold at the first network device. If the parameter exceeds the predefined threshold, one of the virtual machines is selected to move to a second network device, the second network device selected based on network information, and the virtual machine is moved. An apparatus for resource allocation is also disclosed.

A process and apparatus for configuring one or more integrated circuits within a device in a manufacturing process is described. In an exemplary process, a device is manufactured by assembling a chip onto a board such as a printed circuit substrate and the chip is fused from power routed across the board to the chip. The power source for the fusing can be generated from the internal power supply on the board or received on a test point on the board itself or a connection interface (e.g. a USB interface) coupled to the board. In an exemplary apparatus, a device comprises a chip with a plurality of fuses that are used to configure the device and a board coupled to the chip, with the board capable of routing power from the board to the chip and the power is used to blow one or more of the plurality of fuses.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for personalizing a software component to be executed in particular environment are described herein. According to an aspect of the invention, in response to an executable code image representing a software component to be installed in an electronic device, the executable code image is encrypted using an encryption key. The encryption key is then wrapped with a UID that uniquely identifies the electronic device, where the UID is embedded within a secure ROM of the electronic device. The wrapped encryption key and the encrypted executable code image are then encapsulated into a data object to be stored in a storage of the electronic device, such that when the electronic device is subsequently initialized for operation, the executable code image can only be recovered using the UID of the electronic device to retrieve a decryption key in order to decrypt the executable code image.

The present invention contemplates a hybrid printer having printing capabilities at its back end and imagining capabilities at its front end. A conventional receipt printer with a MICR read head has been modified by replacing its front cover with a cover having the same platform but that incorporates a pair of opposed imagers, a second MICR read head, a diverter, and rollers for moving media therethrough.

Methods, systems and computer program products provide an IP based device health check. The methods include initiating a health check to be performed at a customer location. The results of the health check are received and stored as an install state. A current state that was created in response to a diagnostic test executed at the customer location is received. The install state is compared to the current state to identify differences between the install state and the current state.

A device for non-invasive measurement of blood pressure includes a blood pressure cuff, a plethysmographic electrode for acquiring an impedance plethysmogram distal to the cuff and a processing device to inflate and deflate the cuff generate the impedance plethysmogram and to determine the systolic and diastolic blood pressures. The device can be used to measure systolic or diastolic blood pressure or both. It can also be used to take ankle-brachial measurements. An autocorrelation technique can be used to correct noise.

An apparatus for inspecting a sealed container is disclosed and which includes a pulsed electron accelerator which is positioned in spaced relation relative to a first side of the sealed container, and which produces a pulsed beam of photons which passes through the sealed container and any contents enclosed within the sealed container; a detector positioned in spaced relation relative to a second, opposite side of the sealed container, and which receives the pulsed beam of photons which passes through the contents of the sealed container, and which produces an output signal; and a computer for developing a visible image from the output signal of the detector which depicts the contents of the sealed container.
