Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In a first case, a first user equipment (UE) may transmit to a second UE a sidelink discovery message preamble corresponding to a sidelink discovery message. The first UE may identify resources for transmission of the sidelink discovery messages based on the sidelink discovery message preamble. The first UE may either transmit the sidelink discovery message to the second UE or may receive the sidelink discovery message from the second UE using the identified resources for the transmission of the sidelink discovery message. In some cases, the second UE may transmit sidelink control information (SCI) to the first UE, and may transmit a sidelink discovery message to the first UE based on resources identified in the SCI. In some cases, the first UE may transmit the sidelink discovery message without transmission of a preamble or a SCI.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A hub user equipment (UE) in a star topology may broadcast to a set of peripheral UEs indicating slots when the hub UE will not be in a transmission mode. The hub UE may broadcast a slot format indication to the peripheral UEs to indicate operating modes in a set of slots. In a first group of slots, the hub UE may operate in a forward mode, transmitting sidelink communications to the peripheral UEs. In a second group of slots, the hub UE may operate in a reverse mode, receiving sidelink communications from the peripheral UEs. In slots when the hub UE operates in the reverse mode, if a peripheral UE does not have data or control information, the peripheral UE may enter a sleep mode in one or more slots of the second group to save power.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support mechanisms for non-coherent, sequence-based downlink control signaling in a wireless communication system. In aspects, the mechanisms for non-coherent, sequence-based downlink control signaling may include a new non-coherent, sequence-based downlink control channel or signal transmitted from a base station to a user equipment (UE) and configured to convey information bits (e.g., control information bits) to the UE. The UE may receive a signal transmitted over the new non-coherent, sequence-based downlink control channel and may decode the signal to extract the control information. The UE may then apply a control based on the control information received from the base station in the signal over the non-coherent, sequence-based downlink control channel.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for managing transmit power control. In one aspect, a wireless device may receive a message including a path loss value and may transmit a signal to a UL Rx point using an uplink transmit power associated with the received path loss value. In another aspect, a wireless device may receive a reference signal, and a message including an offset value, and may transmit a signal to a UL Rx point using an uplink transmit power including a downlink path loss value associated with the reference signal minus the offset value. In another aspect, a base station may obtain a power measurement of a signal from a wireless device and may send to the wireless device a path loss value associated with the received power measurement, or an offset value associated with the received power measurement.
