Abstract:
This invention saves a sensed image in a printer in an environment in which a digital camera can directly communicate with a printer, and a sensed image can be directly printed.A printer (1000) and digital camera (DSC) can be directly connected to each other via a USB interface. Upon this direct connection, the digital camera and printer serve as a print system, and the DSC serves as a user interface in that system. When the user inputs a print instruction of a desired image on the DSC, a print process of that image is executed. When the user inputs a save instruction of a given image, that image is saved in a storage device in the printer. Even when the image is erased on the DSC side, original image data can be prevented from being lost.
Abstract:
An information security managing technique for use when a plurality of image processing apparatuses cooperate with each other to process a single job. In a case where a single job is cooperatively executed by a plurality of image processing apparatuses via a network, an image processing apparatus as a cooperation destination determines whether or not an image deletion level designated by an image processing apparatus as a cooperation source in the job is supported. When the image deletion level is not supported, the cooperation-destination image processing apparatus determines whether or not the job can be executed without using an HDD provided in the cooperation-destination image processing apparatus. When the job can be executed without using the HDD, the cooperation-destination image processing apparatus performs control such that the job is executed without using the specific storage medium.

Abstract:
An electronic device includes an imaging unit configured for capturing an image of a subject, a memory unit configured for storing data and images; a processing unit configured for processing data and images; a display unit configured for displaying data and images; and a central processing unit configured for processing various signals and images. The processing unit includes a replay module, a selection module, a function module, a menu module and an input/output unit. The input/output unit is configured for activating anyone of the replay module, the selection module, the function module and the menu module. The application system for the electronic device through activating each module via the input/output interface unit can allow the use of the electronic device to be more convenient and simplified.
Abstract:
In one embodiment of an image forming apparatus according to the invention, an overwrite data determination device for determining overwrite data so that a hard disk containing information on image forming jobs is overwritten with the overwrite data. An overwrite block size determination device for determining size of an equal-size block so that a disk memory area is divided into equal-size blocks to be overwritten with the overwrite data. The size of the equal-size block is larger than that of the overwrite data. Using the overwrite settings specified by the overwrite data determination device and the overwrite block-size determination device, a data erase control device overwrites the hard disk with meaningless data in order to erase data stored in the hard disk.
Abstract:
A device, system, method and software product for storing, maintaining, sharing and displaying of digital images in a common designated collection on at least one portable storage and display device. The device has a first memory section designated for storing images and a second memory section for storing digital images of the designated collection. The second memory section has a protected mode that prevents the digital images in the second memory section from being deleted or overwritten. When the protected mode of the second section is disabled, the device will overwrite the digital images of the second memory section with newly captured digital images. These digital images are restored to the second memory section when the digital display and storage device is in communication link with a database that has information for restoring overwritten digital images after newly obtained images in the second memory have been removed from the device.
Abstract:
A digital camera includes an image sensor; a buffer memory adapted to receive images from the image sensor and to store the images therein; an image processor adapted to receive selected images and to process the selected images, including applying a video compression algorithm to the selected images; an image storage device adapted to store the processed, selected images; and an image selector adapted to select the selected images among the stored images in the buffer memory based on at least one image selection criterion, and to cause unselected stored images to be discarded from the buffer memory.
Abstract:
An image-data receiving unit receives image data from other image communication apparatus. A storing unit stores therein the image data. An output unit outputs the image data stored in the storing unit. A reading unit reads the image data output by the output unit. An extracting unit extracts a difference between the image data read by the reading unit and the image data stored in the storing unit. A determining unit determines whether the difference extracted by the extracting unit satisfies a predetermined condition. A control unit controls a transmission of a message to other image communication apparatus based on a result of determination by the determining unit.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an image printing apparatus in which the consistency between image files and a print information file can be held and also the efficiency of user operation can be enhanced. When an instruction to delete the relevant one of image files which are already stored in a taken image storage part in a memory card has been inputted by a file designation part, it is discriminated by a file coincidence judgement part whether or not the relevant one of the image files is present in the taken image storage part. If it is discriminated that the relevant one of the image files is present in the taken image storage part, then it is further discriminated whether or not the specified image file is already registered in print information of a print information storage part.
Abstract:
An image pickup apparatus includes an image pickup unit that picks up an image of a subject; an internal memory; a removable external memory; a compression processing unit that compresses the image picked up by the image pickup unit to generate a picked-up image; a recording processing unit that records the picked-up image in the removable external memory and records the compressed image corresponding to the picked-up image in the internal memory; and an editing processing unit that edits the picked-up image in the removable external memory and the compressed image in the internal memory. For a compressed image in the internal memory, a reservation for editing a picked-up image corresponding to the compressed image and recorded in the unmounted removable external memory can be made.
