    Abstract: A surface acoustic wave device includes a piezoelectric substrate formed from a Ca3Ta(Ga1-xAlx)3Si2O14 single crystal, and an interdigital electrode formed on the surface of the piezoelectric substrate and formed from Al. The interdigital electrode is configured to generate a Love-wave-type SH wave on the surface of the piezoelectric substrate. A normalized film thickness obtained by dividing the film thickness of the interdigital electrode by the wavelength of the Love-wave-type SH wave is 0.16 or less.

    Abstract: A method for forming an electrode catalyst layer by putting catalyst ink within an insulative container having a conductive nozzle in communication with the interior of the container and applying an electrospray voltage to the nozzle to cause electrospray of the catalyst ink through the tip end of the nozzle and thereby to form an electrode catalyst layer, the method includes preparing catalyst ink containing a mixture of at least electrode catalyst, polymer electrolyte binder and volatile organic compound and/or water, putting the catalyst ink within the container with a space remaining inside thereof and air-tightly sealing the container, and electrospraying with the space inside of the air-tightly sealed container being conditioned to have a negative pressure of a level at which the catalyst ink cannot drip off from the nozzle.

    Abstract: A superconducting wire according to the present disclosure includes: a base material; a superconductor layer formed on each of the respective surfaces of the base material; and a conductive protection layer formed on each of the surfaces of the respective superconductor layers. The thickness of each of the conductive protection layers is 5% or less of the skin depth when a high-frequency current flows through the superconducting wire. The material for forming the conductive protection layer may be, for example, silver.
