摘要: Polyethylene yarns having tenacities of at least 12 grams per denier are produced at commercially feasible spinning speeds by a process in which a high density polyethylene having a M.sub.n of at least 20,000 and a M.sub.w of less than 125,000 is extruded through a high temperature spinneret (220.degree.-335.degree. C.) to form yarns which are hot-drawn at a temperature between about 115.degree. and 132.degree. C. The yarns produced by this process are particularly useful as industrial cordage.

摘要: A system and a method for determining aiming point and/or six degrees of freedom of an aiming device. The system include the aiming device, a camera mounted thereon, and a computing device. The aiming point is an intersection between a line of interest (LOI) of the aiming device and surface of an aimed object. A parallel auxiliary line (PAL) is a line starting from the camera and parallel to the LOI. The PAL is a point (PAL-T) in a template image captured by the first camera. The computing device is configured to: provide a reference image; map the template image to the reference image; project the PAL-T to the reference image using the mapping relation to obtain a reference point (PAL-R); determine 3D coordinates PAL-3D of the PAL-R; and determine 3D coordinates of the aiming point based on the PAL-3D and a relationship between the LOI and the PAL.

摘要: This invention, in some variations, provides a separator for a lithium-sulfur battery, comprising a porous substrate that is permeable to lithium ions; and a lithium-ion-conducting metal oxide layer on the substrate, wherein the metal oxide layer includes deposits of sulfur that are intentionally introduced prior to battery operation. The deposits of sulfur may be derived from treatment of the metal oxide layer with one or more sulfur-containing precursors (e.g., lithium polysulfides) prior to operation of the lithium-sulfur battery. Other variations provide a method of charging a lithium-sulfur battery that includes the disclosed separator, the charging being accomplished by continuously applying a substantially constant voltage to the lithium-sulfur battery until the battery charging current is at or below a selected current.

摘要: An apparatus includes a lamp-control circuit. The lamp-control circuit is configured to be electrically connectable to an electrical source having an output voltage that forms a periodic wave formation. The lamp-control circuit is also configured to be electrically connectable to a lamp array. This is done in such a way that electrical current, in use, flows from the electrical source to, and through, the lamp array. The lamp array includes lamp segments. The lamp-control circuit is also configured to urge each lamp segment of the lamp array to consume relatively constant power for a portion of a cycle of the output voltage of the electrical source in such a way that said each lamp segment of the lamp array, in use, emits a relatively constant light output for the portion the cycle of the output voltage of the electrical source.

摘要: A screw with a cutting surface at a tapered distal end thereof comprises a stem; a tapered end; a thread formed thereon; and a cutting surface cutting through the tapered end. A slope of the cutting surface with respect to an extending central axis of the stem is greater than or equal to a slope of an original surface of the tapered end with respect to the extending central axis of the stem. The cutting surface is a flat surface or a concave surface. A distal end of the cutting surface passes through or does not pass through or exactly at an extending central axis of the stem. When the tapered end drills an object, the cutting surface will cut the object rapidly, such as cements, stones, woods and the combination structures thereof. The object will not crack. The operation is easy and force-saved.

摘要: A magic cube input system comprises a control module, a page module, a quick pick module, and a function module; the function module performs selection of a character input mode or a screen keyboard change mode. Under the character input mode, the control module receives voice instructions or motion instructions to control page scrolling of the page module, pick an initial character and subsequent characters successively after the initial character being picked, and the quick pick module presents commonly used characters or vocabularies to be picked up quickly through the control module. Under the screen keyboard change mode, the control module receives the voice instructions or motion instructions to control the page scrolling of the page module and select a suitable screen keyboard via the page scrolling so as to perform character or symbol input or the screen keyboard quick change.

摘要: A method of producing stable disinfectant for use as a biocidal composition. The method comprises: providing reagents, asynchronously feeding the reagents into a wide space, and allowing all the reagents to come into contact and mix with each other. The reagents comprise: a) an amine source in concentrated form, b) an oxidizing halogen compound in concentrated form, and c) a diluent. The use of asynchronous feeding and a wide space results in a dynamic biocide regimen. This regimen results in a changing environment that infestations have difficulty adapting to. This method also imparts superior results due to the avoidance of channeling effects which would otherwise weaken the effects of the biocide.

摘要: An optical transceiver includes an electric terminal that can receive power from a host equipment and provide a power supply voltage to the optical transceiver, and a power failure monitor circuit that can detect an imminent loss of the power supply voltage. The power failure monitor circuit can produce a dying-gasp control signal when such imminent loss of power supply voltage is detected or when a disabling control signal is received from the host equipment. A driver can receive the dying-gasp control signal. An optical transmitter is powered by the power supply voltage and can emit a first optical signal under the control of the driver. The driver can modulate an envelope of the first optical signal in response to the dying-gasp control signal to produce a modulated envelope comprising a first dying gasp signal.
