Abstract: A method and device are disclosed from the perspective of a first User Equipment (UE) to support Sidelink (SL) Discontinuous Reception (DRX). In one embodiment, the method includes the first UE establishing a unicast link with a second UE. The method further includes the first UE receiving a SL DRX configuration associated with the second UE from the second UE. The method also includes the first UE transmitting the SL DRX configuration to a network node. In addition, the method includes the first UE receiving a sidelink grant from the network node, wherein the sidelink grant indicates sidelink resources. Furthermore, the method includes the first UE performing a sidelink transmission to the second UE based on the sidelink resources.

Abstract: In an example, User Equipment (UE) receives first information associated with configuring a downlink (DL) Semi-Persistent Scheduling (SPS) configuration. The UE receives second information associated with activation or deactivation of the DL SPS configuration. The second information includes a Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) process number field indicative of a first value. The UE performs validation of the second information. Whether or not the first value of the HARQ process number field is considered in the validation is based upon whether the DL SPS configuration is for unicast or for multicast. If the DL SPS configuration is for unicast, the validation is performed based upon a comparison of the first value with a predefined value. If the DL SPS configuration is for multicast, the validation is not performed based upon the first value. In response to successfully validating the second information, the UE activates or deactivates the DL SPS configuration.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed. In an example from the perspective of a User Equipment (UE), if sidelink packet duplication is configured or enabled for a Sidelink Radio Bearer (SLRB), a first Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) Protocol Data Unit (PDU), corresponding to a first PDCP Service Data Unit (SDU), and a duplicate of the first PDCP PDU, are transmitted. A first PDCP Sequence Number (SN) of the first PDCP PDU is set based upon one or more state variables used for sidelink transmission on the SLRB. If the sidelink packet duplication is de-configured or disabled for the SLRB, a second PDCP PDU, corresponding to a second PDCP SDU, is transmitted. Noduplicate of the second PDCP PDU is transmitted. A second PDCP SN of the second PDCP PDU is set based upon the one or more state variables used for sidelink transmission on the SLRB.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed from the perspective of a first device to perform sidelink communication. In one embodiment, the first device has a periodic sidelink resource reservation, wherein the periodic sidelink resource reservation comprises, reserves, or provides one set of sidelink resources in one period. The first device also has one or more sidelink logical channels with available sidelink data, wherein the one or more sidelink logical channels are associated with one or more destinations. Furthermore, the first device selects or determines a first destination, among the one or more destinations, satisfying at least a condition that an initial sidelink resource of the one set of sidelink resources is within sidelink active time associated with the first destination. In addition, the first device generates a first data packet for the first destination. Also, the first device performs one or more sidelink transmissions on the one set of sidelink resources to the first destination, wherein the one or more sidelink transmissions includes, delivers, or comprises the first data packet.

The method also includes the UE monitoring a sidelink control channel, associated with the group, based on the sidelink DRX configuration and the time to start of on-duration for each sidelink DRX cycle or start of each sidelink DRX cycle.

The method further includes the UE transmitting a sidelink control information associated with the group on a sidelink control channel in a period, wherein the period is determined based on the SL DRX configuration and the time to start of on-duration for each sidelink DRX cycle or start of each sidelink DRX cycle.
