Abstract:
A paper towel holder facilitates tearing of paper towels from a continuous roll of paper towels supported on the holder, and prevents excessive unraveling of the roll. A portable paper towel holder has a vertical pole and a base having an annular rim of uneven height. The uneven annular rim provides the combination of tall and short sections to balance between effectively holding the towel from excess unraveling, and facilitating ease of tearing of paper towel pieces from the roll. A releasable handle is provided at the distal end of the pole to securely retain the paper towel roll on the vertical pole. The handle is provided with recessed releasing buttons for releasing the handle from the pole. Another embodiment provides a paper towel holder that is structured for mounting to a vertical surface. A spring is provided to provide a bias in the axial direction of the roll.
Abstract:
A trash can assembly has an outer shell, a lid pivotably coupled to the top end of the outer shell, a sensor positioned inside a covered region defined by the outer shell, and a lid control system coupling the sensor and the lid. The lid control system opens and closes the lid when the sensor is actuated.
Abstract:
A container for storing and dispensing plastic bags and process for manufacturing the same. The container includes a front panel extending from the top of the container to the bottom of the container and having a substantially smooth surface with no sharp bents. The container includes a funnel-shaped aperture for facilitating insertion of the plastic bags into the container in a compact and collapsed form. The container has a flat profile that allows the container to be mounted to a vertical surface in a space-saving manner and that helps minimize entanglement as more bags are inserted into the container. The container also includes an access opening for dispensing the plastic bags.
Abstract:
A field emission display with multiple display directions includes an anode structure and a cathode structure. The anode structure has a plurality of peripheral sides, and each of the peripheral sides has an interior surface. A conductive layer and a phosphor layer formed on each interior surface of the shell substrate. The cathode structure is disposed within the shell substrate of the anode structure. The cathode structure has a plurality of peripheral sides facing respective interior surfaces of the anode structure and a conductive layer and an electron emission layer formed on each peripheral side of the cathode structure.
Abstract:
A dish rack has a wire frame base, a horizontal wire segment coupled to the wire frame base, and a swinging arm pivotably coupled to the horizontal wire segment. The swinging arm has a plurality of holders and a lock mechanism that removably engages the swinging arm with a portion of the wire frame base.
Abstract:
Particularly in an engine that has been inactive for a substantial period of time at a cold temperature, fluid forces acting on moving members, such as electronically-activated fluid control valves, may be significant until the engine warms up. A way to reduce the fluid forces and their detrimental effects is to reduce the volume of fluid which are creating the fluid forces, including venting all or some of this fluid to drain. Additionally, fluid that gathers can be drained away. In order to accomplish such venting, the present disclosure includes a fluid control valve having a body with at least one fluid passage connected to a bore, a movable member in the bore, an actuator connected to the movable member to move the movable member, and at least one vent passage opening into the bore between the fluid passage and the actuator. The disclosure may include additional drain passages to drain away gathered fluid from actuating components.
