    摘要: Provided is a liquid crystal display device including a pair of transparent substrates opposing each other, and a frame-like shaped sealant layer with an opening which serves as a liquid crystal introduction inlet. The sealant layer-is provided between the pair of transparent substrates and around their overall periphery spaced apart by a predetermined distance from the peripheral edge of transparent substrates. The pair of transparent substrates are bonded to each other by the sealant layer so as to be held at a predetermined distance therebetween. A liquid crystal material is sealed in between the pair of transparent substrates, and a pair of liquid-crystal-elevation stoppers respectively formed between the pair of transparent substrates and on both sides of the liquid crystal introduction inlet so as to be coplanar with or squeezing out of (i.e., projected from) the peripheral edge.

    摘要: A cartridge to be inserted into a drive unit includes a casing containing a recording medium disc to be driven by the drive unit. The disc has a hub fixed at its center. Center windows are provided at opposite sides of the casing and allow the hub to be inserted therethrough. Head windows are provided also at opposite sides of the casing and allow a reading head to access information recorded on opposite sides of the disc. Shutters are provided around the center windows and normally cover the head windows. These shutters are rotatable about the center windows and uncover the head windows when the cartridge is inserted into the drive unit. An actuator for rotating the shutters is provided between the shutters and the outside of the casing. The actuator has a portion exposed to the outside of the casing so that the shutters are automatically and indirectly rotated by an external force applied to the actuator when the cartridge is inserted into the drive unit. An advantage of the arrangement of these elements is that damage to and malfunctioning of the cartridge is prevented.

The width of each wiring pattern 5 is defined in accordance with the size of each wiring pad (i.e. length of the wiring pattern 5 crossing the electrode pad 3) so that the contact area Sn (=Wn×Ln) between each electrode pad 3 and the corresponding wiring pattern 5 is kept constant. In this configuration, a liquid crystal (LC) display device with great reliability can be obtained in which each electrode pad of the IC chip is stably electrically-connected to the corresponding unstable wiring pattern as in a COF type display device.

The burst-like data are arranged in such a manner that each data length of burst-like data is made shorter than a distance between a read.write gap of a magnetic head for reproducing the data and an erase gap, and that the distance among data of the burst-like data is made longer than a distance between the read.write gap and the erase gap. An apparatus for measuring the off-track of the magnetic head using the disk includes AC-DC converter to which reproducing signals of the magnetic head are supplied, reproduced DC signals being obtained from the AC-DC converter, A/D converter for converting the DC signals to obtain digital data, a timing generator for detecting the burst-like data and generating timing signals of data collection, an amplitude ratio calculation circuit for performing discrimination of the burst-like data provided at an inner or outer circumference side of the track and for detecting an amplitude ratio, and an amplitude ratio vs off-track quantity conversion circuit for converting the amplitude ratio to the off-track quantity of the magnetic head.

    摘要: The present invention is an apparatus for detecting the breaking of a glass plate. The invention uses a piezoelectric element, a signal separating circuit and a gate circuit. The piezoelectric element converts the vibrations of the glass plate into an electrical signal. The signal separation circuit separates the electrical signal into two signal signal components. The first signal component has a frequency range of less than 50 kHz. The second signal component has a frequency component higher than 100 kHz. The gate circuit produces an output signal only when both of the signal components have a signal level higher than their respective predetermined levels. By simultaneous detection of both of the first and second signal components, erroneous indication of the breaking of a glass plate can be prevented.
