Abstract:
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a storage device, for enabling drone activity in a property monitored by a property monitoring system without triggering a false alarm. In one aspect, the method includes actions of obtaining a location of the drone, identifying a first sensor installed at the property that is within a predetermined distance of the drone, detecting first sensor data generated by the first sensor that is within a predetermined distance of the drone, wherein the first sensor data includes data that is indicative of an event, determining whether a second sensor that is mounted to the drone is generating second sensor data that corroborates the event indicated by the first sensor data, and disregarding, by the property monitoring system, the first sensor data in determining whether to trigger an alarm.
Abstract:
A tracking system can provide intervention notifications to a user to notify the user that a tracking device is potentially lost or is in a predicted state. The tracking system may notify the user that a tracking device is potentially lost or in a predicted state based on a number of factors, including: a proximity of a tracking device to other tracking devices or a user's mobile device, a movement of a tracking device to more than a threshold distance away from a mobile device or other tracking devices, a location of a tracking device relative to a geographic location or to geographic boundaries, a usage or movement behavior of the tracking device, a usage or movement behavior of a user or owner of a tracking device, information received from an external source, or information received from sensors within the tracking device or a user's mobile.

Abstract:
The invention relates to an alarm for detecting damage to a multiple glazed unit comprising: a humidity sensor; and a movement sensor in which, when the movement sensor detects movement of the glazed unit, the humidity sensor compares the current detected humidity in the glazed unit with a previously stored detected humidity, and if the humidity has changed by a predetermined threshold, a damage alarm is triggered.
Abstract:
In an embodiment of the invention, an apparatus comprises: a glass break detector comprising a first circuit board to detect breaking of glass; and a second circuit configured to transmit a signal or other data indicating a breaking of glass.
Abstract:
An acoustic glass breakage detector including a pulsating current-powered microphone and operable for generating pulsed signal data corresponding to sound waves detected thereby, a sample and hold circuit operable for converting the pulsed signal data into a voltage level signal and storing the voltage level signal, a sound frequency band pass amplifier operable for ascertaining whether the voltage level signal corresponds to an explosion-like sound typical of an initial glass-breakage sound, a flex wave band pass amplifier operable for ascertaining whether the voltage level signal corresponds to a flex wave typical of an initial glass-breakage sound, and circuitry operable, responsive to ascertaining that the voltage level signal corresponds to an explosion-like sound typical of an initial glass-breakage event and that the voltage level signal corresponds to a flex wave typical of an initial glass-breakage sound, for ascertaining that the pulsed signal data is indicative of a glass-breakage event.
Abstract:
Various embodiments of wireless ambient sensor unit are presented. The sensor unit may include a wireless transceiver configured to transmit sensor data and to receive instructions. The sensor unit may include a sensor configured to measure an ambient condition. The sensor unit may include a controller in communication with the wireless transceiver and the sensor. The controller may be configured to compare data measured about the ambient condition to a stored threshold while the wireless ambient sensor unit is functioning in a low-power mode. The controller may be configured to exit the low-power mode in response to the comparison of the data with the stored threshold. The controller may be configured to cause the data measured about the ambient condition to be transmitted by the wireless transceiver as one or more messages in response to the comparison to the stored threshold.
Abstract:
A method for detecting a glass breakage event, the method including, responsive to receiving a plurality of acoustic event indications associated with an acoustic event, ascertaining whether the plurality of acoustic event indications together indicate a random nature of at least part of the acoustic event, thereby ascertaining that the acoustic event corresponds to a glass breakage event.
Abstract:
A glazing having a device for detecting a crack in the glazing comprises a sensor, substantially circumscribing a ply of glazing material. A surface contact, bonded to the glazing, is configured with a portion of the sensor to form a capacitive coupling for transferring AC signals in a frequency range. Preferably the sensor is frangible and voltage may be applied by a second surface contact. Alternatively, the glazing further comprises an electrically resistive element, such as a coating for heating the glazing, and voltage may be applied to the sensor by a spur from a busbar such that damage to coating, busbar or sensor resulting in arcing is detectable at the surface contact. An electronics module attached to the surface contact generates an alarm.
Abstract:
A low cost, robust, wireless sensor that provides an extended period of operability without maintenance is described. The wireless sensors are configured to communicate with a base unit or repeater. When the sensor unit detects an anomalous ambient condition (e.g., smoke, fire, water, etc.) the sensor communicates with the base unit and provides data regarding the anomalous condition. The sensor unit receives instructions to change operating parameters and/or control external devices.
