Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. An integrated access and backhaul (IAB) system may perform contention window updates on an IAB node for different components of the IAB node. In some implementations, the IAB node may perform separate contention window updates in separate reference durations for the different components. Additionally or alternatively, the IAB node may perform a joint contention window update for the different components, where a single reference duration for updating contentions windows for the components may be defined for the IAB node that includes transmissions for both components. Additionally or alternatively, the IAB node may perform separate contention window updates for the different components based on the single reference duration that includes transmissions for both components, where feedback may be used separately to update corresponding contention windows.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. An integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node may include a first component for communications with a parent node and a second component for communications with a child node. The IAB node may perform a first channel access procedure for a first fixed frame period associated with the first component. The IAB node may perform a second channel access procedure for a second fixed frame period associated with the second component, the second fixed frame period staggered in time with respect to the first fixed frame period in accordance with an offset. The IAB node may communicate with one or more wireless devices during a first channel occupancy time associated with the first fixed frame period, during a second channel occupancy time associated with the second fixed frame period, or a combination thereof based on performing the channel access procedures.

Abstract: In some aspects, a network node may determine a connection identifier associated with transmitting data to a decoder node via multiple paths, wherein the connection identifier is associated with a single radio bearer of a user equipment (UE); encode a first portion of data into first packets and second packets; transmit the first packets and the connection identifier to the decoder node via a first path; transmit the second packets and the connection identifier to the decoder node via a second path; receive a response from the decoder node, wherein the response includes the connection identifier; and transmit, to the decoder node and based at least in part on the response, one of: third packets, encoded from the first portion of data, and the connection identifier, or one or more sets of packets, encoded from a second portion of data, and the connection identifier.

Abstract: A parent access node may establish a first link with a child access node. In some cases, the parent access node may determine to release a resource of the first. The parent access node may transmit downlink signaling indicating release of the resource. As such, the child node may schedule a child link resource (e.g., a parent-controlled resource) corresponding to the released resource. The child node may then communicate with a child node of its own in accordance with the scheduling of the child link resource. In some cases, the resource release indication may be associated with a one-time resource release, or may be associated with a semi-persistent release (e.g., until the parent node reclaims the released resources). In some examples, the child node may transmit an uplink message to request resources from the parent node (e.g., and the resource release may be based on the request).

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide for beam management in wireless communication systems. In some examples, beam angle information (e.g., angles of arrival/departure) may be utilized to select one or more serving downlink beams for communication between a scheduling entity and a scheduled entity. The beam angle information may further be utilized to facilitate additional operations within a backhaul network, such as wireless node locating, obstacle locating, system mapping within the network topology, beam determination and beam sweeping configuration, and mobility management among wireless nodes of a backhaul network. In other examples, aperiodic uplink beam measurements may be triggered based on downlink beam measurement reports and/or in response to a request from a scheduled entity. The scheduling entity may then jointly select uplink and downlink beams based on both the received downlink beam measurement report and uplink beam measurements.
