Abstract: The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. A method performed by a terminal of a wireless communication system, according to one embodiment of the present disclosure, comprises the steps of: receiving a master information block (MIB) from a base station; receiving, on the basis of the MIB, a system information block (SIB) 1 from the base station; receiving, on the basis of the SIB 1 from the base station, at least one piece of system information including cell reselection-related information; and performing a cell reselection procedure on the basis of the cell reselection-related information. The cell reselection-related information includes cell reselection priority information for each frequency for a terminal having limited reception capability and cell reselection priority information for each frequency for an ordinary terminal.
