Abstract:
According to the present invention, when a direction in which a retrain signal is to be transmitted is determined in advance in the communication procedures, and when the retrain procedures are to be performed by detection of a communication error via a control channel, the transmission/reception of the retrain signal is performed in the determined direction, so that the retrain procedures can be appropriately performed.
Abstract:
A facsimile communication system and a communication apparatus reduce a loss time due to the synchronization of transmission/reception and shorten a communication time. They also shorten a communication time in a full duplex communication mode and allow proper switching of the full duplex communication at the transmission/reception replacement. DIS-CFR signals, EOP-DCN signals, NSS-TSI signals and TSI-DCS signals of a facsimile communication protocol are connected by synchronization signals so that the synchronization signals are sent even after the sending of the protocol signal. Thus, the sending of the synchronization signal for one second when the next protocol signal is sent is not necessary and a time required for the protocol signal is shortened. An ANSam signal to disable a function of an echo suppressor is sent when a call is detected and a calling station thereafter sends a protocol signal and an image signal in a manner not to cause signal interruption of 50 ms or longer, and at transmission/reception replacement at the end of the image signal from the calling station, a called station sends an ANSam signal and sends a protocol signal.

Abstract:
A facsimile apparatus performs an effective process in retransmission when a communication based on ITU-T Recommendations V. 8 and V. 34 ends with an error. A retransmission in succession to an error that occurs in the middle of a V. 8 and V. 34 communication is performed in one of the following transmission modes: a mode not performing the V.8 and V. 34 communication, a mode performing V. 8 and V. 34 communication but with a baud rate limited, and a mode performing the V. 8 and V. 34 communication but with a bit rate limited.
Abstract:
There is provided a facsimile apparatus having a heat fixing unit, in which received information stored in a memory and corresponding to a plurality of communication cycles is output at once, thereby reducing power consumption.A facsimile apparatus includes a memory circuit for storing received information, a heat fixing recorder circuit for recording the received information, a memory circuit (number of sheets for record start) for storing the number of sheets in advance, and a controller for controlling these circuits. The fixing unit is in an OFF state during waiting. The controller turns on the heat fixing recorder circuits to record the received information when the received information stored in the memory circuit reaches the number of sheets stored in the memory circuit (number of sheets for record start).
Abstract:
According to a this invention, a line is acquired in response to reception from the line. An ANSam signal of a V. 8 procedure is sent out to the line in response to acquisition of the line. When a CM signal is received within a predetermined period of time after the start of sending out of the ANSam signal, the V. 8 procedure sequence is continued. When the CM signal is not received within the predetermined period of time, sending of the ANSam signal is stopped, and the sequence is shifted to a sequence using another communication procedure (T. 30 procedure) different from the V. 8 procedure. The predetermined period of time for monitoring reception of the CM signal while sending out the ANSam signal is changed in accordance with the execution state of the communication sequence. Upon automatic reception, the V. 8 procedure can be appropriately executed, and a shift in sequence from the V. 8 procedure to another communication procedure (e.g., T. 30 procedure) can be performed within a short time period.
Abstract:
A facsimile apparatus which records received information on a recording sheet includes a recorder that has an active mode and a standby mode using less electric power than the active mode. With the recorder in the standby mode, the received information is stored in a memory without being recorded until a detector detects that the amount of stored information has reached a predetermined value. At such time, the mode of the recorder is changed to the active mode to cause the recorder to record the stored information.
