    摘要: A process for making a resin emulsion suitable for use in forming toner particles includes melt mixing a resin possessing acid groups at a temperature higher than the glass transition temperature of the resin, optionally adding a surfactant before, prior to, during, or after melt mixing the resin, and adding a basic neutralization agent and water to the resin to form an emulsion. In embodiments, the resin emulsion thus produced may be utilized to form a toner.

    摘要: An emulsion aggregation toner composition includes toner particles including: an unsaturated polymeric resin, such as amorphous resins, crystalline resins, and combinations thereof; an optional colorant; an optional wax; an optional coagulant; and a photoinitiator. By optimizing the particle size of the emulsion, the aggregant concentration utilized in the emulsion aggregation process, and the solids content of the emulsion, toners may be produced capable of generating images with non-contact fusing that have high gloss.

    摘要: A toner is disclosed that includes a toner binder of crystalline sulfonated polyester, wherein the crystalline sulfonated polyester is 90% by weight or more of the toner binder, and a colorant. In other embodiments, the toner includes a crystalline sulfonated polyester and a linear amorphous sulfonated polyester, and a colorant. In these embodiments, the crystalline sulfonated polyester is from about 20% to about 60% by weight of the toner binder and the linear amorphous sulfonated polyester is from about 40% to about 80% by weight of the toner binder. The toners possess excellent miniumum fixing temperatures in the range of from about 80° C. to about 130° C. Processes for preparing the toners are also described.
