Abstract: This application relates to the field of communications technologies, and discloses a polar code encoding method and apparatus, to improve accuracy of reliability computation and sorting of polar channels. The method is: obtaining a first sequence used to encode K to-be-encoded bits, where the first sequence includes sequence numbers of N polar channels, and the sequence numbers of the N polar channels are arranged in the first sequence based on corresponding reliabilities of the N polar channels, where K is a positive integer, N is a mother code length of a polar code, N is a positive integer that is a power of 2, and K≤N; selecting sequence numbers of K polar channels from the first sequence in descending order of the reliabilities; and placing the to-be-encoded bits based on the selected sequence numbers of the K polar channels, and performing polar code encoding on the to-be-encoded bits.

If it is determined that the TAL needs to be updated, the user equipment sends a tracking area update request to the network device. Abstract: This application provides a polar coding method, a polar decoding method, and an apparatus. A transmit end obtains K to-be-coded bits and an index set including K polar channels, where a value set of K1 indexes in the set of the K indexes or a value set of K2 indexes in the set of the K indexes is determined based on a value set of K2 of the K to-be-coded bits, and the value set of the K1 indexes and the value set of the K2 indexes are complementary sets of each other; and performs polar coding on K1 to-be-coded bits. In comparison with a conventional polar coding method and a conventional polar decoding method, the polar coding method and the polar decoding method provided in this application can achieve an effect of reducing a bit rate. A simulation result indicates that the method has better performance.

Abstract: Various embodiments provide an interleaving method, to improve error correction performance of a polar code. In these embodiments, a first bit sequence is obtained. The first bit sequence includes L number of bits, and L is a positive integer. The L number of bits are then written into an interleaving matrix according to a preset write rule. The interleaving matrix includes C rows and R number of columns. C and R are positive integers. The L number of bits can be read from the interleaving matrix according to a preset read rule to obtain a second bit sequence. The second bit sequence includes L number of bits; and sending the second bit sequence.
