Abstract: A method and an apparatus for transmitting broadcast signals thereof are disclosed. The apparatus for transmitting broadcast signals comprises an encoder for encoding service data, a mapper for mapping the encoded service data into a plurality of OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex) symbols to build at least one signal frame, a frequency interleaver for frequency interleaving data in the at least one signal frame by using a different interleaving-seed which is used for every OFDM symbol pair comprised of two sequential OFDM symbols, a modulator for modulating the frequency interleaved data by an OFDM scheme and a transmitter for transmitting the broadcast signals having the modulated data, wherein the different interleaving-seed is generated based on a cyclic shifting value and wherein an interleaving seed is variable based on an FFT size of the modulating.

Abstract: The present specification discloses an invention relating to a method for transmitting an MTC physical downlink control channel (MPDCCH) by a base station in a wireless communication system supporting machine type communication (MTC). According to the present invention, a base station transmits, to a terminal, configuration information related to the transmission of an MPDCCH and maps the MPDCCH onto multiple resource elements (REs) of at least one first symbol constituting a first slot of a special subframe. The special subframe is a subframe in which, among symbols constituting the subframe, the number of symbols for data transmission is smaller than or equal to a predetermined number. The base station transmits the MPDCCH to the terminal over the multiple resource elements, wherein the mapping step is performed by copying at least one second symbol of a second slot adjacent to the first slot onto the at least one first symbol.

Abstract: A method for transmitting a broadcast signal includes encoding service data; encoding signaling data; building one or more signal frames including one or more data symbols carrying the encoded service data and one or more preamble symbols carrying the encoded signaling data; modulating the one or more preamble symbols and the one or more data symbols into one or more preamble Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex (OFDM) symbols and one or more data OFDM symbols by an OFDM scheme; normalizing average power of the one or more preamble OFDM symbols and the one or more data OFDM symbols in time domain using power normalization factors. Further, a power normalization factor for a preamble OFDM symbol is obtained using frequency domain total power of the preamble OFDM symbol in frequency domain, the frequency domain total power of the preamble OFDM symbol is 7737.10 when a Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) size is 8K, a guard interval length is 1024 samples, separation of scattered pilot bearing carriers is 3 carriers and carrier reduction (Cred) coefficient is 0 for the preamble OFDM symbol. The method also includes transmitting the broadcast signal having OFDM symbols including the one or more preamble OFDM symbols and the one or more data OFDM symbols.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method of transmitting broadcast signals. The method includes encoding service data of Physical Layer Pipes (PLPs); bit interleaving the encoded service data; building at least one signal frame including the bit interleaved service data; and modulating data in the at least one signal frame by Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) method; inserting a preamble at a beginning of each of the at least one signal frame after the modulating step; and transmitting the broadcast signals having the modulated data, wherein the preamble includes two OFDM symbols and each of the two OFDM symbols is generated by a sequence multiplication, and wherein each of the two OFDM symbols in the preamble includes information for an emergency alert.
