    Abstract: A target user equipment (UE) may receive, from each relay UE of a set of relay UEs, a synchronization signal block (SSB) through each transmit beam of a set of transmit beams from the UE through each receive beam of a set of receive beams at the target UE. The relay UE may transmit the paging message through each transmit beam of the set of transmit beams. The target UE may determine a beam pair based on the received SSB, and receive the paging messaged using the beam pair. The target UE may also receive, from a relay UE, a paging message through one or more sidelink channels from each transmit beam of a set of transmit beams of the relay UE through each receive beam of a set of receive beams at the target UE and decode the received paging message.

    Abstract: A method of wireless communication for a user equipment (UE) includes entering a dormancy period for a secondary cell group (SCG) of a base station (BS) during which no downlink (DL) data or control transmissions are received from the SCG; performing a channel state information (CSI) measurement on the SCG during the dormancy period to generate a measurement report; determining an uplink (UL) beam of a primary secondary cell (PSCELL) of the SCG; transmitting the measurement report to the BS on the UL beam of the SCG; and determining, during the dormancy period and after transmitting the measurement report, one or more downlink (DL) beams for communicating on the SCG based on one or more rules and based on the measurement report, wherein the one or more rules result in the BS determining the same one or more DL beams based on the measurement report.

    Abstract: The apparatus of wireless communication may be a UE configured to activate a MAC-CE transmitted over an SL relay after waiting a time period by receiving an activation request for a command in association with a third UE in a first MAC-CE relayed from a second UE, transmitting, to the second UE, a second MAC-CE including an activation response to the third UE in response to the activation request, and activating the command after transmitting the activation response. The UE may wait a time period after transmitting the activation response before activating the command. The UE may receive an HARQ ACK from the third UE in response to the transmitted activation response or an HARQ ACK from the second UE in response to the transmitted activation response, and wait a time period after receiving the HARQ ACK before activating the command.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive control signaling indicating a configuration for reporting beam failure detection (BFD) reports via a relay device. The UE may also receive a control message activating BFD reporting at the UE in accordance with the configuration. The UE may monitor for reference signals from a network entity, and may determine one or more beam failure instance (BFI) indicators that pertain to communications between the UE and the network entity. The UE may transmit a BFD report via the relay device in accordance with the configuration. The UE may transmit the BFD report prior to a beam failure declaration that occurs when a quantity of the one or more BFI indicators exceeds a threshold. The techniques described herein may reduce the likelihood of beam failures occurring between the UE and the network entity.
