Abstract:
A phosphor particle having a non-particulate, conformal aluminum oxide coating and a fluorescent lamp incorporating aluminum oxide coated phophor particles are disclosed. A method for improving the lumen maintenance of a fluorescent lamp is also disclosed. The method involves applying a non-particulate, conformal aluminum oxide coating to the outer surface of individual particles of a finely-divided fluorescent lamp phosphor, applying the coated phosphor particles to a fluorescent lamp envelope, and processing the phosphor coated envelope into a finished lamp.
Abstract:
A surface emitting light emitting diode (LED) has a reflecting element to redirect light emitted away from the light emitting region towards an exit window. The LED bottom contact is formed over the reflecting element and a current confining path is set up within the LED to funnel current between the top and bottom contacts around the reflecting element and through the light emitting region.
Abstract:
Process for coating elongated lamp envelope for reflector-type fluorescent lamp in which only one lehring step is used to remove binder from the applied plural coatings, thereby reducing lamp costs and simplifying the coating process. The reflector portion of the coating is formed of mixed titania and phosphor, which permits the reflective material to be removed from the end portions of the coated envelope after the applied reflective material coating and overlying phosphor have been lehred. There is also provided the resulting lamp.
