Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to medium access in a shared radio frequency band with long-term sensing for exception to medium access restriction are provided. A wireless communication device performs channel measurements in a shared radio frequency band during a plurality of measurement occasions spaced apart in time, the performing the channel measurements being based on a plurality of spatial directions. The wireless communication device determines whether the channel measurements satisfy a criterion for accessing the shared radio frequency band without a medium access restriction. The wireless communication device transmits, in a first spatial direction, a first communication signal in the shared radio frequency band without the medium access restriction in response to determining that the channel measurements satisfy the criterion, the plurality of spatial directions including the first spatial direction.

The device transmits a second communication signal in a second COT of the plurality of COTs, the second COT spaced in time from the first COT, in response to winning the first reserved time interlace.

Performing the channel sensing operation includes performing a direction-based scan of one or more beams associated with the wireless communication network, and the channel sensing operation is included in a joint sensing operation performed with a base station. The method further includes, based at least in part on a result of the channel sensing operation, determining whether to perform, during a second window of the frame period, one or more communication operations with the base station.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to listen-before-talk (LBT) are provided. A first wireless communication device performs an LBT in a channel to contend for a first transmission opportunity (TXOP). The first wireless communication device receives, from a second wireless communication device, a first reservation signal reserving a second TXOP in the channel in response to the LBT, the second TXOP being different from the first TXOP. The first wireless communication device adjusts a signal detection threshold based on transmit power information associated with at least one of the first wireless communication device, the second wireless communication device, first data traffic to be communicated in the first TXOP, or second data traffic to be communicated in the second TXOP. The first wireless communication device determines whether to yield channel access during the second TXOP based on a signal measurement of the first reservation signal and the adjusted signal detection threshold.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may be provisioned with multiple semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) configurations. The UE may determine a differentiation characteristic for determining which SPS configuration is indicated by a downlink control information or associated with a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH). For example, the UE may receive a first activation of a first SPS configuration and a second activation of a second SPS configuration. The UE may determine the differentiation characteristic between the first SPS configuration and the second SPS configuration. The UE may determine that one of the first SPS configuration or the second SPS configuration is the SPS configuration for a received PDSCH based on the differentiation characteristic. The UE may transmit an acknowledgment of the PDSCH based on the determined SPS configuration.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may transmit a random access request message to a base station in a random access procedure to access a wireless network. In response, the base station may transmit a random access response message to the UE including an uplink grant for a first set of uplink resources for the UE to transmit a radio resource control (RRC) message. The UE may determine a second set of uplink resources for transmitting the RRC message, for example, based on additional uplink grants received in the random access response message. Additionally or alternatively, the UE may derive additional grants implicitly from the first uplink grant received from the base station. The UE may transmit the RRC message to the base station using the first and/or second sets of uplink resources and establish a connection based on the RRC message for subsequent uplink and downlink communications.

Abstract: Aspects are provided that allow a base station to use visual information of interfering UEs for optimizing shared channel access and beam and interference management and tracking. The base station may obtain visual information of a UE. The base station may then access a shared channel to communicate with the UE based on the visual information. After accessing the shared channel, the base station may communicate with the UE over the shared channel using one or more beams based on the visual information. Efficient channel access and communication in mmW environments may thereby be achieved.
