    Abstract: A terminal device for use in a wireless telecommunications network, the terminal device comprising: first receiver circuitry configured to receive a first signal from each of one or more signal emitting devices located at respective spatial positions; transmitter circuitry configured to transmit a second signal to infrastructure equipment of the wireless telecommunications network; second receiver circuitry configured to receive a third signal from the infrastructure equipment, the third signal being transmitted by the infrastructure equipment in response to the infrastructure equipment receiving the second signal, the third signal being for determining, in combination with the first signal received from each of the one or more signal emitting devices, the spatial position of the terminal device, and the third signal being comprised within a predetermined system information block (SIB); and control circuitry configured to determine a spatial position of the terminal device based on the received first and third signals.

    Abstract: A wireless telecommunication system includes base stations for communicating with terminal devices. One or more base stations support a power boost operating mode in which a base station's available transmission power is concentrated in a subset of its available transmission resources to provide enhanced transmission powers as compared to transmission powers on these transmission resources when the base station is not operating in the power boost mode. A base station establishes an extent to which one or more base stations in the wireless telecommunications system support the power boost operating mode conveys an indication of this to a terminal device. The terminal device receives the indication and uses the corresponding information to control its acquisition of a base station of the wireless telecommunication system, for example by taking account of which base stations support power boosting and/or when power boosting is supported during a cell attach procedure.

    Abstract: A method for controlling a connection procedure for a terminal device requesting a radio connection to a cell supported by network infrastructure equipment in a wireless telecommunication system, the method comprising: determining, at the terminal device, that a request to connect to the cell supported by the network infrastructure equipment is to be made, establishing, at the terminal device, application information relating to an operating context for the terminal device: transmitting a connection request message from the terminal device to the network infrastructure equipment, wherein the connection request message comprises a request for the terminal device to connect to the cell and an indication of the application information; and determining, at the network infrastructure equipment, whether to allow the request for the terminal device to connect to the cell based, at least in part, on the application information received by the network infrastructure equipment from the terminal device.

    Abstract: A method determining indication of an occupancy level in a mobile communications system including a base station to communicate with a mobile communications device via a wireless interface provided by a first frequency channel allocated to mobile networks communications for the mobile communications system and by a shared channel which can be shared by the mobile communications system and by other wireless communications systems. The method includes: a mobile communications device: measuring, for each of plural first time periods within a second time period, a channel utilization on the shared channel; determining channel occupancy states for the shared channel for each of the first time periods based on the measured channel utilization; and determining an indication of an occupancy level for the shared channel for the second time period, the indication of an occupancy level determined based on the occupancy states for the shared channel for each first time period.

    Abstract: An infrastructure equipment for providing a wireless backhaul for another infrastructure equipment in a wireless communications network comprises a receiver configured to receive, from the other infrastructure equipment acting as a relay, uplink data transmitted by a communications device, a transmitter configured to transmit to the infrastructure equipment acting as a node via the wireless access interface, and a controller.     Abstract: A terminal device configured to receive a radio signal from which measurements can be used to assist in determining a position of the terminal device. The terminal device detects one or more system information blocks carrying position assistance information transmitted from the infrastructure equipment and estimates the position of the terminal device by combining the identified position assistance information with the radio signal received by the position detection receiver circuitry.
